Unfortunately strikes don't work anymore unless you are a pilot. So that's a no win situation, better to take an o.k contract then lose your job. If they did what Northwest contracted all C checks out, they could effectively run the operation with 1200 mechanics. Your GSE , tech support, maintenance controller, and tech instructors wouldn't walk, don't know about inspection. So the company knows it's an empty threat. Most people on their surveys said **** No to a strike. So the point is mute.The only time you are allowed to strike is if this ever gets to self help. If that happens you are an “at will” employee. I know you already know this. An approved strike vote does not mean you strike. It’s just in case everything goes to hell an you don’t have much to lose anymore. Better to be prepared than not at all.
