WN Mechanics seek mediation

Well, if your paperwork required you to look at those cabin items and you didn't document any discrepancies you found, you would not be doing your job. You would be what they call..........non-compliant.
Crow, these two are so uninformed it is now pathetic.
Why don't all of us just sit back, relax and wait for the meetings to take place in March? Stop all the sideline wishes (driver) and wants, by anybody.
Strikes, bankrupted, etc. it really is just getting pathetic.
The write-ups are legit for all a/c that have been grounded. The mechanic writes the descep up, he then radios MC on his findings, and then they, with other groups decide to ground the a/c with the reports from all involved. It's not just a mechanic grounding an a/c, it's actually several group effort. Think about it folks...

That's a stupid statement a maintenance controller in Dallas if I call and tell him the Airplane is broken, he ask me how much time I need. If you write something up in the logbook or a non routine your either fix it, or defer it.

Or it gets grounded for legit safety write-ups, right driver??? C'mon man. And MC will tell you what to do, right driver?? Who makes the final decision driver? Answer that...

Read my statement stupid when you call maintenance controller, and the plane is out of service, they ask you how much time you need. I guess when we had the ratty 300s , you were being non compliant for the team. When you write something up it is either fixed or deferred.

Again. WHO makes the call??? Little hint for ya, NOT the mechanic...

When the mechanic finds discrepancies during the course of his job assignment, he doesn't always determine when it's fixed or how it's fixed. Depending on the discrepancy it might be deferred or fixed immediately. The real question is; Should a mechanic overlook discrepancies for the sake of time and company convenience? I think not.

The problem,is, this whole 6.5.years, even with the ratty 300s we have never had this many out of service A/C . So if it got to a judge he would ask you what the difference between 6.5 years, and Feb 12-th 2019 and beyond was. If you can prove you were consistent that whole time, which with statistics you can not, he will smell a rat, and it could go either way. If it goes badly for AMFA our so called bargaining power is severely damaged, especially if a fine is large enough to severely financially cripple our union.

Driver, I see your point, and I agree with you on a lot of common sense stuff, but to me it would seem quite clear that I have been doing my job during the 200's and 300's days and even up to recently but when you threaten me with compliance, security cameras watching people, I personally would say that I've been doing my job but your threats and intimidation, cameras etc have me in a continuous heightened state and afraid to lose my job if I forgot a step or missed something, so I'm taking extra care and time to make sure that all my bases covered, t's crossed and i's dotted. No?

As long as you stay in the scope of your task cards. Now if you are doing a walk around on an MV 1- or above and you see corrosion, a lightning strike, a dent. Fluid pouring out. That's within the scope of task card. You are fine. I just want our union to be able to function for grievances ect. I don't want Seham bleeding us dry, or SWA suing us into oblivion.

Can we just give it all a rest? We can sit here and say this will happen and that will happen, but my God, let's just stop with all the scenarios and guesses, and wait and see what happens in these next nego's.

And now the new threat of another new lawsuit "might" be filed by AMFA against the co. lawsuit. When does this crap stop? It really is getting old. Get a clue people. It's time for both sides to get back to the table and get this done and over with. The troops are getting tired of this dragging on any longer.

AMFA can we please get in there and get it done? This new guy is coming to make a deal, I sure hope the union is willing to also get it done.

Here's yet another article that is threatening another suit coming in this mess of suits and division:

Southwest Airlines' operational emergency continues as mechanics threaten lawsuit

As stated before, we are reviewed by surveillance video for compliance. Mechanics have been fired and disciplined for non- compliance.

It stops when we as a group rise up, take control and toss AMFA to the curb, just like United did. Pick a Union you want, and quit making Seham rich. This is the same crap they did at Northwest.
