WN Mechanics seek mediation

If you think the majority that lost seniority even with a 4 year bump is a amfa win, we are in trouble. Seems to me the AirTran teamster got the best of that deal. Easily could have got them for 6. Heard plenty of junior guys say they were all for selling sick time for 10 cents on the dollar just to lash back for the seniority loss. They don't forget!
How would you like to be the poor slob that missed the 4 year bump, by a month, that will follow them for the rest of their career, how do you think they will vote?

You think junior that lost hundreds of slots in seniority and will be on graves for years and years gives a damn about backshops in Dallas. We get served a crap ta it just might pass. Junior doesn't have much to lose. They know senior voted them out of seniority.

You are still mad ex-AirTran person.
Every AMFA mechanic got a 4 year bump. 100% of them.

In a straight dovetail, every mechanic would have lost seniority except #1

The IBT could have forced arbitration and gotten this easy but they, and you, dropped the ball.

You are an idiot.
That same guy, hired after the merger, would have been behind you EX-AirTran people in any integration solution.

I am not talking about the Air tran guys, you missed the bump , someone that might have you by a month, has you by 4 years, so you have nothing to lose , by voting in a bad deal, get it now, and you call me an idiot, I have my seniority .

Get this, the mechanics at valujet were accruing swa seniority the whole time. You obviously were one of the guys that voted your own out of seniority. Feeling just a little guilty? Just a little?

I guess the inept IBT forgot to enlighten you guys about how Mccaskill-Bond works. It was enacted to prevent any seniority staple to occur again. All you had to do is decline our 4 year bump offer, and you would have gotten a dovetail and your raises very shortly after arbitration.

The low seniority SWA mechanics at that time got way more with a four year bump than a dovetail. There would NEVER be a staple. That could never happen unless you airtran guys agreed to it. We knew you were not that stupid.

However, we didn’t know that the IBT would tuck tail and run leaving you with a 4 year windfall for us.

They should have advised to take it to arbitration just like Mccaskill bond requires. But they didn’t call AMFAs bluff and didn’t represent you guys at all. All ex-airtran mechanics should be pissed at the IBT for that failure.

But you two clowns still seem to think that the IBT did something good there.

So were you two shop stewards for the IBT when you were at Airtran?

Our seniority list shows everyones hire date.
Every one of you show a 4 year deduction from that date for the seniority list except the ones hired after the merger.

So I 'll have one more an Airtran guy with 1993 hire date might have you beat, but according to Wn you didn't lose anything. So between the Airtran guys that feel like they took it in the shorts, the middle guys, the really old guys, and the junior guys, they should be on board with these road shows. But who knows could've been worse, if we were still Teamsters might have dove tailed everyone.

Sounds like you are breathing a sigh of relief, they Airtran guys didn't push it, boy wait till I tell my guys that used to work at Airtran how stupid AMFA thinks they were, between that and local 4 ALR , they should love to cast their yes vote, but I have my super seniority to rub in their face, and the low SWA people! Thanks WN you will make my meetings with my guys !

First there was a 7 year deal that got voted down. Amfa was threatened with mckaskill/bond. A 4 year bump was cut. It passed on the a/t side by over 80%. Amfa took the bait and over half the swa mechanics lost seniority to the valujet/AirTran mechs. A turd was served and you ate it.

AirTran guys should be angry with the IBT who should have told them that they were guaranteed a way better deal in arbitration.

Low time SWA mechanics should realize this too and know that they NEVER would have been a staple. They may not be too happy with that, but blame that on Mccaskill-Bond.

The middle guys should realize they got a better position than where an arbitrator would have put them, and should be happy at that IBT failure to represent.

Everyone else should be very happy with the seniority integration deal.
You cant please everyone, but those are the facts.

You would have had a straight dovetail.
100% of AirTran lost 4 years and voted away their seniority.
You ate the turd.
