WILL USAIRWAYS SHOW IT? WILL YOU SEE IT?

Thank you. I was feeling pretty alone in my thinking.
Your not alone!

I too plan to see the movie, its as factual as could possibly be without actually interviewing the souls who were lost that day. as was stated many family members of those who were onboard flight 93 that day gave interviews and retold what they believed was taking place over the skies that fateful day, and they were brave enough to see the movie after losing a loved one.

The actors are average everyday folks like you and I, no hollywood Icons or glamor. some of the actors were actually involved with what was happening on the ground that day. I know this probably does'nt seem like much to many folks here but %10 percent of the movie proceeds will be donated to the memorial setup in Shanksville, PA Where UA flight 93 and her brave Americans came to Rest.

I for one will never forget that day, nor should any American. we owe it to the memory of those who perished while our Country came under attack, and we owe it to those who bravely risk losing life defending our Nation still.

Im sure I will get alot of negative feedback for posting this, but I really don't care, so in closing I'll leave you with the words of a song about that day which for me sums it up.

Have You Forgotten

Have You Forgotten

-----------------------------------------------------------

I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fighting for

CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yes, some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

Barf!!!!

Give me a break! It's still a pretty sick movie and too early to be reminded of this.
Go ahead and watch this movie and get terrorized again.
I'm sick of watching this on tv and now the movies? I'm glad people have been complaining about the previews in the movie theatres. I think it's pretty disgusting. We already know that those people died on that flight and you people want to recreate the terror that those victims went through? You want to feel the emotional pain, the stress, the fear and terror that those victims and their family went through? All that stress is just going to give you a heart attack! you people are pretty sick! If you want to respect the heroes donate your $8.50 (not the 10%) to their family instead, but wtf and watch this terrorizing film. I hope it flops.

I agree. I read a book once and it says that our eyes are the window of our soul. When we visualize anything that is terrorizing, we are actually inviting and opening a gateway of that energy. Be careful what you watch and put into your thoughts. You can invite goodness into your life, or you can invite demonic forces. I don't plan on seeing this movie either. I'm passing it.

Don't plan to see it. The fact that someone's making money off it makes me ill. To me, this is no different than if Sears was having a "September 11th Day Sale!".

And local 12 proud, the entire premise of that song is wrong. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Osama's still at large somewhere, and it is and was never in Mesopotamia.

Thank you! This movie is just more government propaganda trash to invoke fear on the masses, so they can control society like in the movie V for Vendetta.
It's pretty sickening that anyone who plans to see the movie is saying that they want to honor the heroes. Whatever!

Will US Airways show it? For crying out loud Einstein!! What the hell do you think?
All I did was read the topic of this thread and shake my head.

I think that premise was just a faint to keep the moderators from moving the topic to the United or 'just talking' board.

OOPS Did I let the cat out of the bag.

I don't think we have enough to conclude that this is "hollywood exploitation." When Hollywood exploits something, it's usually WAY MORE TACKY and DISGUSTING than this. This isn't a huge hollywood blockbuster. It's apparently as accurate and sensitive as you can be, roughly. I HATE Hollywood and slasher movies and movies sexualizing kids and generally overly violent gory stupid crass vulgar etc etc. etc. I don't think that United 93 qualifies as that kind of "Hollywood exploitation"

However, for me, it's just WAY too soon. Maybe for Dubuque, it isnt, but my sense for D.C. it's WAY too SOON. Let's get the memorial built first..... by getting around that stupid Texas Congressman blocking it. If there's ONE THING the Federal government should pay for, a memorial for United 93 is it!

Personally I don't give two cents what you think, but could you point out to me where Iraq was mentioned in that song, I guess we missed that part.

True Osama's hiding out, probably in some cave like a scared rat. But he is a wanted man, with a price on his head and his days are numbered.

If you think those terrorist groups who call Mesopotamia home would'nt delight in removing your head with a dull knife, Then you must have it planted squarely up your arse.

I would also venture to say, that you would be the first one in line to condemn our government if God forbid Iran were to gain a Nuclear weapon and hand it off to one of those terrorist groups they openly support, only to have it detonated in the U.S.A.

Do you have a ranch in Idaho?

Your probably one of the wackos who believe's 9/11 was masterminded and carried out by our own government as an excuse to dominate the worlds Oil supply too huh?..

Yea lets all set around the camp fire and sing Kum-Ba-Ya together, and think only happy thoughts. all that is bad will just disappear and love will overtake the world.

Heres a Visual for ya, Over three thousand of your fellow Americans were slaughterd on 9/11 at the hands of some religious fanatics who would jump at the chance to spill your blood. Do you think those souls who perished that day invited those demonic forces into those Twin Towers.

Why don't you just pray and wish happy thoughts for all those Islamic extremist groups who Chant "Death To America"
Im sure their god will turn their hearts.

So Flight 93 is government propoganda -

And V is for Vendetta is relevant and prophetic cinema.

Alrighty then.

I understand the movie will be hard for some to watch. I understand that many will feel it is too soon. But I think it should be required viewing for all Americans.

I am not interested in watching this movie and I did not like being blindsided by the promos when they first started. Now that I know they are out there I can avoid them.

To each their own.

I lost several friends and coworkers on 9/11/2001. I don't plan to see the picture, for personal reasons.

We ARE reminded of tragedy on a daily basis with new rules and reasons to fear. I don't want to see Hollywoods perception of the horror leading up to my friends and coworkers death.

To the families of victims who support this film, God Bless you. I hope this will give you some sense of closure.

And to the family and friends of the victims of 9/11 who do not support this film, God Bless you too. I wish they would stop showing the trailers, and let us continue our healing process.

I saw the movie last night.

Small correction on the donation of the 10%. I heard it was only this weekends profit were they donating but I could be wrong. I wished the company who made it would donate all profits (after all expenses paid) to the memorial and the families.

It was very factual for the info I knew. I have read some of the transcripts and the publicly available reports on the incident. There were many things I learned that i had not read while watching the movie as well. For instance the DOD unable to get a clearance from NY Tracon to bring the fighters in over the NY City area because "they were just too busy to deal with them and they would have to wait".

The cinema-photography was very amateur and you could tell this was a somewhat low budget film in that respect.

The theater was very quite and very somber at the end of the film. For those wishing it to "flop", it probably will. I was at a prime time showing at 7:30PM and there were about 100 people in the theater that seats 250 or so. The average age was probably 40 or so years old. No 20 some things or 18/19 year olds in there.

I went to the movie 1) As a "fact finding" entertainment. (Kind of like watching discovery channel) 2) to show my support for the families and the memorial.

I wished that more people would want to see this but it is apparent by reading most of the responses on this board that most just want to move on and pretend like we are in 1995 again. The attacks of 9/11/2001 were not just some random drive by attack by a few kooks. It was a carefully planned and mastermind plan to be the first of many many steps to come for the demise of western culture. If you do not think there are people in caves using oil burning lamps thinking of how to destroy western culture (you, me, and everyone else reading this message) then you are sadly mistaken.

The events of that day changed many of us personally and professionally. We in the aviation sector have probably suffered the longest from those attacks. Most other people in most other industries can not look back and say “the events of 9/11 changed my careerâ€￾. Many of us have lost friends or acquaintances either in the attacks or shortly afterwards, but we can not forget what did the attacks. No I did not say who but rather the what, the who is irrelevant. The who is the people who did not care enough about their own lives or the lives of their people and "martyred" themselves in the name of their GOD. The what is the Muslim extremist that want western culture to disappear for ever and will do whatever it takes to make that happen. They believe they will not get to their next life if they do not do their part to destroy western culture. The what still exist out there today and we need to be vigilant and observant of the what and do what we can to protect ourselves.

If you had a poisonous snake in your backyard, would you put up a fence around it or get rid of it? And how are Muslim extremist any different.

I believe that all the proceeds should go to both the families of the victims and the Flt 93 Memorial Project. I also believe that all 40 Passengers and Crew Should Receive the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor for their bravery in taking on the hijackers.

The airline window (if there is one) will most likely be in August or September. No airline will be showing this movie on overhead, because Universal Pictures will not edit it for overhead. (It's quite un-editable!) I would be surprised if Universal even makes the theatrical version available for VOD/PTV systems. There may be some international carriers that will want it to fill their 60+ channels of VOD programming. However, the sticky wicket is that if Universal makes the theatrical version available for VOD/PTV, they will need to make it available "across the board" for ALL carries - including the Middle Eastern carriers. If Universal is wise, even if the movie flops and they want to make every dime they can from airline sales, they will not offer this film to anyone, regardless of whether or not there are any "takers." There will be plenty of opportunities in the other ancillary markets for Universal to see a profit (or at least break even) on this film.
