Why there will never be a T.A.

Go back a re-read. My response was for Al who believes the word "will" means its a certainty. I then shared the language which says "will" although I don't bieve they'll actually do it but could use the possibility to their advantage.
Of course nothing is certain except.....Ill put it this way would you or your boy Weez like if the contract language read they could outsource MIA in 2020

Al if I was in a city that I thought could be closed in the future from reading the contract language I never would have came here probably in the first place.

One of the reasons I came here in the first place was that I believed there was a Bankruptcy in the future forecast and MIA gave me a ton of cusion for when the ax might come.

Also in the past the company traded off a station to be closed with one that was supposed to open

I don’t know if it’s as simple as trading off but if the Airline draws down a location for whatever reason they could be ramping up in another and in the past it might warrant the in house staffing before all these subcontractors came into being.

Al you go back to a time where almost none of them even existed. I’ve felt the squeeze for my entire 23 year career. I can only imagine your 40 years. BTW Al what month do you hit 40 if you haven’t hit it yet?

You said W and Racer X don’t agree with your concern. So again....please do not speak for me.
I never said that and I have been quite clear.
Thank you

I'm concerned, among other things, about that language. I'm concerned about the Preferential Hired Members and I'm concerned about the TA'd language and how it affects those in MIA.

There are many concerns to consider.

And there lies the great conundrum. How to express and weigh all those concerns and yet still show humility for others concerns or the ones that aren’t particularly your first choice?

I'm more "concerned" with those that are purveyors of fear and division...
Now, THATS something to really be CONCERNED about!

That seed is still mostly floating around in the wind and hasn’t yet found soft ground to land on and grow.

NYer,

Correct me if I am wrong here, but aren't you on the NC now? Shouldn't you be concerned with how the TA'd language affects those systemwide, not just in MIA?

I have a question for anybody that will answer honestly on the LAA side?

Why do you folks (most of you anyway) hate the LUS folks?

Why do you folks (most of you anyway) blame the LUS folks for your bankruptcy agreement?

Why would you folks (most of you anyway) rather bring us up to your insurance premiums rather than fighting to come down to ours and having more extra money in your check?

I do not hate nor blame anything on the LUS side of the house. To be honest, I do somewhat resent the fact that the LUS side has not been more vocal in protests or the inequalities of the 2 CBAs. Our bankruptcy CBA has nothing to do with the LUS folks. Any LAA that "blames" LUS for that soup sandwich is delusional.

In so far as the medical goes, I think we are just being realistic. Every other group has been moved to the LAA plan. I do not see that changing. I`d love to have the lower cost insurance but at what cost? I do not think most LAA folks are willing to hold out indefinitely under a concessionary bankrupt contract to make incremental gains in medical. We would lose much more in a holdout vs what we would gain.

The illegitimate association debacle lends itself to the devisive dynamic that is in play. Two very different agendas from the two unions do not help. The LUS guys will not see much of a gain. The LAA side stands to finally win back some of what we lost in 2003.

Short of a representational election I don`t know how we fix this. Until we all vote on one union, there will always be a split imho.

My concern is your perceived position on the issues that concern me. I am thankful the 5 IAM NC members have, as I understand, veto power.
I look at them like the straps on a gurney. They are there to protect you from harming yourself, and others.
