Why don’t you SWA mechanics just be honest?

Ever get tired of beating the same dead horse. Maybe you should have been on your committee, maybe they didn't want you, or you may just like to complain and not do anything about it. Its not fair, its not fair. There I said it for you. Yeah I know "aquired not hired" heard that one too, maybe not from you but your cohorts. Ill have t shirts made so you can save your breath. This far into this, thought we would be getting somewhere. Guess not.I don't think I can squeeze it all on there. Maybe Ill just put BOHICA. That should sum it up.

I stopped beating that dead horse ,, well until the AT guys performed CPR on that horse to bring it back alive talking DOH... take some accountability here... one second AT talks rationally about a %30 hit and no LOA's and then the next day we start hearing AT guys spouting DOH only ,, save your shirt making ideas,,, we are past the hired not aquired/ we bought you/ etc.... a little courtesy and god forbid a complimentary comment from more than just Avtech would go a long way,, I have beat that dead horse and still I cant find a breath of rational in the last week or so,, ,, so maybe we all should give up,, its simple,,,,,, No LOA's,,one time seniority hit,, and move on,,, get it done,, tell your AT bretheren ,,

To think you guys were so close,, then to see it all slip away,, but your right,, its all the SWA mechs fault,, they are arrogant, they are demanding and here AT sits just being the nice guy... come to think of it I have never read a disrespectful comment from one AT employee... the word that comes to mind is SAINTS,, and not from new orleans

Whoa, whoa!! Where is all this coming from!?!? I know this is stressful for all of us but insulting eachother isn't going to fix anything... Even though it' makes for an entertaining read... Let's just lay it all out there, facts!!

1) SWA mechs do not eBay AT mechs to have any seniority!

2) AT mechs put in a lot of blood and sweat to earn that seniority, just as some of the SWA mechs have!!

3) AT mechs are getting pay raises, but that comes with the job!!

You know what I'm, tired of trying to play peace keeper here.. You guys just #### and moan amongst yourselves... I'll post on here of I hear anything change, but from now on, I'm just going to keep to myself... It just seems like SWA and AMFA mechs are battling eachother and we are in the middle of it because SWA mechs are the shelfish to share, like kindergarteners with a toy, "it's mine, not yours, my daddy bought this for me",... And it feels like I arguing, constantly, with children that have that attitude.. Not worth my stress and time.

I'm leavin here with, DOH is the only fair way to merge a seniority list for people that do the same job! If we @ AT vote in anything other than DOH then we are giving SWA mechs a peace offering for a better future, but it's not becaue you deserve it, it's just to appease you.

Hope you all have a happy new year, AT, SWA, UAL, DAL, etc... Hopefully out airlines are fruitful in their endeavors and we all have a job for 2013!

I know its crazy, but take your yugo or saturn into the mercedes dealer,, explain you want to upgrade,,tell them ou will be giving up absolutley nothing and they better like it,, and you want all the bells and whistles that go with a premium Mercedes,,, see how the salesman looks at you!!! then as he is politely kicking you out of the store all you have to do is say,, but I am AT,, I deserve it.....see how your rationale works out in the real world,,,

Now you're just being a selfish little brat throwing a temper tantrum like a 2 year old that has nothing intelligent left to say so you're going to start insulting the 'other guy'!! First, to compare SWA to a Mercedes is impractical and is outright delusional!! The only thing SWA has in comparison to a Mercedes is that they get maintained outside the United States!! Hell, even a Mercedes has traveled over water once or twice, unlike a SWA jet!!! If you really want to compare SWA to an automotive manufacture, then maybe you'd compare them to Ford when they were having the tire blow outs that we're causing their explorers to flip over!! AT may have not been a perfect airline, but we ALL busted our asses to make it what it is today, and continue to do so!!!! So to insult them and call AirTran mediocre at best is a direct insult to me and my co-workers!!!

That's one thing that no AT employee has done on this forum, and that's to insult SWA and it's people! But Buscador has the audacity to continuously compare and demise AT like we are a some evil hearted spirit because all we want is what we feel and believe is fair.

We didn't ask for any of this! We were just fine the way we were! hell, compare AT to SWA when SWA was just 18 yrs old and SWA only had to pay pennies on a gallon of fuel and see has made off better!! Year for year, from the start of SWA compared to the start of AT, AT has surpassed SWA in virtually every aspect! Pay, benefits, routes, baggage, load factor, etc... And AT did most of this with the high fuel load and post 9/11!! I mean, SWA doesn't even have a reservation system to handle an international route! Their crews aren't trained in water survival! This list can go on forever....

You brought me back into this forum under horrid circumstances and for that, you get the finger! STOP WITH THE INSULTS!!! Insulting AT is an insult to its employees that have ALL worked their asses off to make it what it is...

Now, stay on topic, make rational posts that actually contribute to a possibility to a positive outcome or don't say nothing at all!

WOW! everyone is so touchy now! Southwest Airlines Being the Mercedes of the Airline industry! you never could tell from all the selfish mechanics I run into here at work! We have a Me Me Me attitude. Everday how many of you sit around work all day Bitchin about pay, OT/ bypass , outsourcing maintenance, taking Sickations, daytrading just to get the free 24 PDR. bitching about working too hard. Southwest is just stealing from you, But we want Air Tran to appreciate all this and be grateful for what we have no control over. We get nothing out of this? Give me a break! We already got ours and many of us here don't even appreciate it, nevermind whether we deserve it or not! When Southwest Airlines makes a profit. we don't get anything? Empty them rocks from your heads and lets stick to Seniority Intergration nothing else. Maybe we would be farther along if we thought more like Business men ( Like the Pilots do) intstead id the 1950's Union thugs we could think a little better!

Is your myopic view of the industry reflective of most of the AMT's at WN? How sad if that is the case.

You speak as if the 30K raise (suspect figure) AT AMT stand to gain is coming out of your pocket or at the least out of some sort of effort you or your union have gained. In fact the fight and reason you are making what you are is solely to the credit of the NWA AMFA AMT's. Before any legacy carrier pay cuts your "mercedes" contract was what, the 3rd highest in the industry? After the legacy AMTs suffer thru BK pay cuts and pension cuts to get our costs down to your "mercedes" standard you stand there like you actually achieved something!

Only in the airline biz can this injustice occur!

I know its crazy, but take your yugo view of the industry, get some historical perspective, go look in the mirror and be grateful for the salary you make and the sacrifices others have made so that you and your family can enjoy an upper middle class standard of living!

Please dont lower yourself and try to bring up tit for tats,, about tire blowouts,, or like others who bring up baggage lost, or a/c sliding off runways,, SWA is 5 times bigger than AT, 5 times the chances for mishaps,, not one employee intentionally did something to try to evoke those mishaps,, you are doing what you condemn,, ragging on SWA employees,, and we all Know what horrible event caused the name change from VJ to AT,, I would never rub that pain in anyones face,., would you use the same line of logic and blame that on the VJ employees or throw it in their faces like you are at SWA

You are not correct in that AT people stick to just the facts, thats False,, look through and find all the shots taken SWA,,, which is a slap to the employees at SWA,,, you are the only one that I can remember actually saying a good thing about SWA,, a lot of mud is being thrown and both sides are culpable,, the difference,, AT gets the BEST out of this!!!

You cant compare the two companies with guesses about 9/11,,gas prices,,etc,, our company became the largest domestic carrier in the Country (not just luck),, SWA is a bigger, better management, more financially stable, the company with the Best contracts that WE employees worked our asses off to finally get,,You at AT accepted contracts and Pay that was not even close to Par w SWA,,and now magically AT employees over night literally became worth %40 more to the world of Aviation,

Only in the Airline business,, Only in the Airline business can you have this injustice,,,,

Good Luck,, Keep wishing for Arbitration is not the answer,, that company thats 5 times bigger has 10 times the muscle to squeeze an Arbitrators demands out for a long long time,,,
it will not be pretty and what happens too many of the GOOD employees at AT will not be so good,,...I am done with this insanity,,,

So Vote No , go to arbitration,, I will just watch over the next 5-10 years as those same AT people who are complaining now will be screaming w indignation then..

My myopia is a direct result of the demands that the AT people are screaming for,, your not a legacy carrier never was there a chance for that,, and correct me if I am wrong but most of AT was non union until several years ago??.. You have never had a top contract, a 3rd best contract before legacies or after legacies went into BK,, you are comparing apples to lug nuts,, AT tran though a viable airline was never a leader, never ever a trailblazer in the Aviation business,,

So in the big Picture when all the dust settled, in every chart, every poll, talks about innovations or changing the way the public sees or uses aviation as a mode of transportation,, AT was never mentioned, just stuck under the radar and stayed there,, I have seen enough of this industry, been around long enough, to see the ravages of BK, many airlines go by the way side, mergers, etc,, I cant remember the last time an Airline truly Bought another airline, let alone watch the smaller airlines employees scream,, After the %40 payraises and quality of life , we demand DOH... that just hasnt happened,, nothing about it is rationale or fair to the SWA employees ,, but life is not fair,, so be it,, I am moving on,,non of this effects my seniority at all,, but to watch the selfishness and demands is something I just cant figure out,,

So I will keep my myopic views, just as Most of AT employees posting here will keep their extreme Narcissistic views,,, good luck,, this is going no where ,, arbitration seems to be the best for all involved,, then SWA can bring out the big guns,, ugly but true,,, Vote NO,, Vote NO.. fireworks will come if it goes to arbitration,, thats my prediction,,,

O yea, all those AT viewers,, try to say something nice about your NEW company,, it could go a long ways,, just a little tip,, :unsure:
