Happens every year about this time - just like the crack-head going through withdrawal. I find myself itching to go flying again. The better half is yelling at me to sit my ash down whenever Stars or the Griffons are buzzing overhead, and I've got my pumpkin mashed against the window putting a big greasy stain on the glass.

At the end of the season I'm so sick of helicopters I swear I never want to see one again or sit on one of those $50 seats for 10 hours. But here I sit thinking about the up-coming season - what wil I be flying? where? with who? doing what?

What do you guys/gals miss the most when you are away from flying?

Some of my favorite things are:

- first flight of the day as the sun is just creeping over the horizon.
- last flight of the day as the sun is creeping down.
- the sound the machine makes in a tight bank... whapp whapp, trrrr
- payday!!
- production long lining - getting in the groove. AC/DC in the background.
- bucketing
- running into guys on the job that you haven't seen for awhile.
- those little wind gusts that bounce you around.
- listening to the engineer snoring and farting on the other side of the tent - NOT.
- spending a tour with one machine and getting to know its little quirks.
- those little personal challenges - trying to put the skids in the exact same spot.

There's more, but I want to hear some of your warm and fuzzies. :D

Well if the engineer is still sleeping on the other side of the tent at least you know you have not been out there to long......

It's when you get annoyed with him and you are both in the same sleeping bag that you have some real problems. :D

Yeah, I don't miss that mosquito wallpaper inside the cockpit, and yet...... addictive isn't it?

MR. M.O.T. says you gotta have a room to yerself bub. Something about making sure you're well rested for your 10 hour day in the 50 dollar seat. Tell yer engineer to find another tent to snore in. And fart. :p

:D
making lunch in the early morning and wondering which moutain top your going to eat your lunch. Those warm summer days. Looking down at the world and seeing how little it really is.
