So everyone we have all heard about furloughs for aircraft maintenance and pilots, are there any other confirmed layoffs on the horizon?

<_< B737----- As one a.a. F/A was overheard saying :"Don't worry! The furoughs are all ex-TWA people! They won't effect us!!!!!"

There are auto/facility layoffs too. They head to JFK, and bump others elsewhere. We have close to 10 ex-TWA guys in BOS from JFK via STL.

This is one reason why AA is screwed up because the ex-TWA people really never united with AA into 1 airline.Bringing up the statement of 1 F/A just creates more division within the ranks.
The ex-TWA people SHOULD be layed-off first because they have less seniority, not because they are ex-TWA.

AA was the one who made the major mistake of buying TWA,not the employees of TWA.
When you buy a failed airline you get the good and the bad including the attitudes of the employees.

Just like the TWA'ers blaming AA for all their problems right?! Your post works both ways don't you think?

Not only is Life a Bliss but here's a little secret too:

Years before TWA went up for sale, all the AA FAs got together at a local pub and one FA had this brilliant idea, stood up and declared "Hey here's an idea, why don't we convince Don Carty to make a pitch to buy out TWA, this way we can screw over all those TWA FAs! If this works out, we can do the same thing to the rest of the other airlines and screw over their FAs as well!". Everyone cheered at this notion and bought this FA a round of drinks the rest of the night.
A few hours later, the Easter Bunny came in with the Tooth Fairy and exclaimed "You bunch of evil no good scum, we've reported all of you to the proper authorities", and then Captain America and the rest of the Marvel Superheroes came barging in and arrested all but one of the AA FAs who managed to escape the roundup and ran all the way to Don Carty's mansion and pitched the idea of purchasing TWA.

The rest is history.

Why must this fight continue? Noone on the line even talks about the f/a's on furlough as TWAA'rs , all are furloughed AA f/a's. Maybe instead of coming up with blame theories, we can come up with ideas to help to protect the quality of the jobs that are still left, whcih in the long run is what I think Unions were created for in the first place. Just a thought.

as long as they have that lawsuit going on, I'm afraid the "fight" will continue. It's even been said by ex-TWAr's that they hope to bankrupt the APFA with lawsuits just so they get their point across. I'm sure those very same people who said these will suddenly come out of the woodworks denying that these words were ever uttered.
I wonder if TWA was the one who bought out AA if they would have merged in the FAs or given them DOH seniority. I'm sure, again, that they will come out with a "of course we would have, we're true Unionist" but you know, that's all watercooler talk. They would have done the very same thing to preserve their seniority, so all this talk about "doing the right thing" is just plain BS, because human nature dictates that one will do everything in his power to retain what is riughtfully theirs. AAr's believe that they started from day one with AMR, so they believe it's their right that they should get seniority over TWA. TWAr's believe that they have a right to retain their seniority no matter where they end up, thus the lawsuits. Whatever the outcome, in the end noone is going to be happy about it.

Gee, TWAnr, not everyone thinks you're evil, I'm sure. Don't be so hard on yourself. ;) ;) ;)
