With the way you bash USAirways . You better hope I am not working your flight . Go fly delta :/

Taken DL before on the 777-200LR from ATL, that flight has since ended don't want to fly on an antiquated 747 with PM-NW crews from JFK.

It was back in the early 90s, so those flight you speak of probably werent there.

What will the FAs say on board if I call the airline USAir? When I last flew US to PHL incidentally I was on 702UW, they didn't seem to mind when I asked if its US Airways or USAir. Could it be East/West crew issue? Will my flight be operated with East crews I presume?

Once again you are posting things that have no relevance to the topic, stop trying to stir the pot, and keep on topic.

Guess you have nothing better to do on a Saturday, lol!

Let me educate you once again:
On November 12, 1996, the airline announced that it would change its name to US Airways and introduce a new corporate identity in early 1997. The new logo, a stylized version of the Flag of the United States, would be adopted. The new branding was to be applied to terminals and ticket jackets. The airline planned to paint aircraft in deep blue and medium gray with red and white accent lines

Really? Before you said the name changed in 1996:

Who is US Air? That name hasnt been used since 1996, a little behind the times there Joshie?

And have you flown on every single plane to say they are old and dirty and antiquated?

Your truly ignorant.

US Air?

They didnt exist in 2002, that would be US Airways since 1995.

Who is US Air?

They havent been in business since 1996.

Dont like it dont read it.

It hasnt been US Air 16 years, even the media still gets it wrong.

Real Mature, I could think of a few things to call you. Like I said, it hasnt been US Air since 1996 when Wolf and Rakesh changed the name.

Which year is it 1995, 1996, or 1997? Seems to me the critical date is 1997, they likely waited until after holiday travel to begin phasing in the new name. Of course, it probably took years to phase out the old name/logo. You keep changing it so either you're making things up or are ignorant of the facts. Like I said, people call it USAir because it is the short hand name. No different than calling Delta Air Lines "Delta", United Airlines "United", Southwest Airlines "Southwest", etc. Plenty of other businesses change names, merger and people call them by their former names. Some buildings and streets may change names but 30-40 years later people still refer to them by their former name. Until she passed away several years ago, my Grandmother who lived in NY for 75 years still called JFK Idlewild despite the fact the name changed 40+ years ago. Some things never change. Why are you so sensitive to people calling it USAir? Is it not PC to call it USAir? Seems you are very sensitive to it.

Does US Airways (formerly USAir) "US" provide large pillows and duvets in Envoy? Don't care about the meals or FA service, I will eat before boarding and plan to sleep and be undisturbed. Will there be non-revs on the flight or is TLV not usually a NRSA friendly flight?

DL has totally refurbished seven of their 747-400s and plan on completing this by October of 2012.

True but while the JFK-TLV route may be scheduled for a refurbished 744 they do swap aircraft and I don't want to be stuck with the old product. Don't get me wrong, I'd usual take non-union DL (I realize the pilots and dispatchers are union, no need to attack me) any day over US but I don't want the old seat or the surly disgruntled PM-NW FAs that I avoid like the plague. From ATL I was guaranteed 777-200LR and non-union ATL based PM-DL crews. While AFA may now be decertified and integrated the FAs are still around.

Josh

The topic is the flight, not the status of who is union and who is not, you have serious issues and you really need to figure it out.

If it wasnt for unions in this country it would still be master and servant.

Get a clue.

If it wasnt for unions in the airlines, you would have a lot more lawn darts.

And I guess your not smart enough that all of your European major carriers who you so tout are unionized.

And the DL JFK-TLV is showing it is using the refurbished interiors.

Yep, I know but I answered etops1 why I didn't want to take DL given the possibility of an antiquated aircraft with surly and disgruntled PM-NW crews. Assume most things from JFK are largely staffed with PM-DL crews, although everything has since been integrated so who knows.

Yep, I know the European airlines are unionzed too. So is Southwest, Cathay Pacific, El Al, Singapore Airlines and many other airlines I've flown that I didn't list. The difference is the carriers I listed above do not allow employees to be unprofessional in the presence of customers and for the most part provide consistently good customer service (except El Al perhaps). I had great service in LX F from union FAs, same on LH and BA. Not sure why the US based unions and employees can't get their act together and realize the customers who pay their salaries aren't the enemy nor is management.

And the DL JFK-TLV is showing it is using the refurbished interiors.

Great, you've proved you can't/neglected to read my post. I said the route is scheduled for a refurbished 744, although substitions do happen. Still possible on US, UA, BA, LY, etc it does happen. On US as you've posted and is indicated on the Envoy website all 330s have the new product so its more likely and near certainty my flight will have the Envoy Suite.

The questions are getting creepy . Asking about planes changes crews ect. I see red flags here. Hope someone looks into it.
