Jimmy Hoffa, The same thing we have now with the TWU. A union Leader which can not be removed. Who like our own Jim little dictates from above.

$20.00 more each month in DUES. Since the teamsters dues are 2.5 times all in, which includes base rate, license and shift premiums, your dues will go up from what we now have with the TWU by this amount. This is so that you will have a strike fund, as Quoted by the IBT . But since we work for a Legacy carrier which affect the US economy the government will not allow AA to strike so all the extra money is actually for the Butcher/Baker/candle stick makers strike fund.

Appointed Business Agent, this position at the local is the top position of the local which deals with any issues that come up with the company. (AA) This is NOT an elected position. You get the person the IBT selects.

The Local, which has a diverse group of workers that will outnumber the airline employees with a 8:1 ratio. A local with no one attached to the ATD. No vested interest in our class and craft.

Local Members, truckers/Food processors/butchers/bakers/Dairy workers/warehouse workers. All of these union members will have a say as to the election of the officers at the local. Also will vote on any and all Local issues.

If this is what you DON"T Want, then Don't sign with the Teamsters.

The Teamsters will go after our frozen pensions if we give them the opportunity. They tried this or still trying this with the UAL/CAL AMT's. They never asked the AMT's if they wanted their frozen pensions (CAL AMT's) turned over to the Teamsters. The Teamsters have pensions in the RED and need your (OUR) money to help them out. USAir was the FIRST airline to turn pensions over to the PBGC. Others followed. Fortunately American was forced to hold onto the pensions. With the new USAir/American management team it would be easier for the Teamsters to voluntarily try to handle our frozen pensions. Our pensions as we know it would be dramatically changed. I would rather have the PBGC handle my pension before the Teamsters gets their money hungry claws on MY money. The teamsters claim strength in numbers and political clout mean nothing when we have to pay more money for the same style representation we already have with the TWU. Do you want to risk losing your pension to the Teamsters? This should be the one and MOST important reason NOT to support the Teamsters.

Teamsters Broken Promises
“With the Teamsters as your bargaining representative any changes to the
contract will be voted on by the membership, and you will be kept well informed
throughout the process.” Quote from Paul Molenburg Teamsters appointed business agent during
2007 IBT UAL campaign. Teamsters UAL News Vol 2 Issue 4.
Another Broken Teamsters campaign promise
Mr. Molenburg broke his promise to the membership when he signed an agreement to create a new
classification in your contract without the knowledge or consent of the UAL SFOOV shop stewards or
membership. Teamsters’ hypocrisy at its finest. This letter of agreement which has established a new
classification is an example of the inexperience, and incompetence we see everyday under the “Teamster
representation” at United Airlines. The Airframe Support Lead LOA is at mechanicsforchange.com
This Teamster appointed business agent and the company created a new classification in your contract
The qualifications and responsibilities of the new classification are to be “determined by the company” after the
signing of the letter. This inexperienced business agent has shown disregard for our contract and membership.
He is a shining example of everything we dislike about the Teamsters. Clacy Griswold and Chris Griswold
Local 986 Secretary appointed Paul to the business agent position and shortly thereafter they divided the SFO
membership in half. The IBT repaid his campaign lies and loyalty by putting this inexperienced and unqualified
person in charge of enforcing (or not enforcing) our contract. The Teamsters constitution and bylaws no longer
has provisions for electing a business agent this right was removed in 1981. Teamsters’ democracy at its best!
During their campaign Mr. Molenburg wrote on union democracy and open negotiations.
His fairytale description of Teamster democracy is so far from Teamster reality at UAL it is laughable.
Mr. Molenburg talks about furloughed UAL mechanics rights even as the IBT UAL negotiating team works to
eliminate United mechanic lifetime recall rights! The article is available at mechanicsforchange.com.

Everything the Teamsters promised in their campaign at UAL has turned out to be a lie.

1. Who elected the IBT negotiating committee that is now in secret negotiations with UAL?
2. Who elected the Teamsters Representatives who are steering our negotiations to mirror the
Continental contract that removes mechanic lifetime recall rights?

It is time for change.

You know it's kind of funny. As long as I have been on this board there is one thing that no one, absolutely no one, has ever disputed or challenged the fact that I have proven the fact that the teamsters are always doing behind closed door deals. Not only were they doing them at SWA but we also found evidence that they were doing it at CAL (pre merger) And now it looks like they are continueing the same "behind closed door" deals at UAL. Finally, whew, I can stop typing the (pre merger). LOL. I know this will sound bad, but, the united guys deserve what they got from voting in the crooked teamsters. Why in the world would they nego away the life time recall, this, very well could be the nail in the coffen for the teamsters at UAL.

Mechanics for Change
UAL Mechanics Class and Craft

APRIL 2010: Two Years of Broken Promises by the Teamsters and their appointed IBT union officials.

The Teamster experiment at UAL has resulted in the worst representation we have seen on
this property in 40 years, no representation on the floor, no voice in our union. The SFO mechanics are cut in half.
What other Union in America divides a Local membership and then calls it better representation? We have no Locals to provide a voice for the UAL Mechanics Class and Craft.

Take a look at their broken promises over the past two years.

We have witnessed contractual failures made by the IBT and their appointed leadership. Chief Stewards and business agents are being encouraged by Union bosses to get along with the company.

Several Letters of Agreement have been signed without membership approval and changes were made that
harm our members’ contractual rights. What about the current negotiations? What other rights and benefits will we lose?
• Broken promise: “Teamster Strength and job security” Vendors are still working on our property and their
numbers are growing. The “blended workforce” is still on the property in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco
and other stations. Vendors on the property and outsourcing have increased under the Teamsters. Almost 1000
mechanics have been furloughed since IBT takeover in 2008.

There are no Teamsters knocking on your door now if you’re on the street. The slogan of “Securing our Future” apparently refers to the IBT union bosses and appointed union reps or business agents.

CAL is hiring off the street while UAL has mechanics on Layoff.

Since the NMB has said that UAL/CAL is a single carrier, being represented by the IBT has not been the best for either the Continental mechanics or the United Mechanics. They still are operating as seperate carriers and still even though being represented by the same union Have NOT intergrated the work force.

With all the Money & Power the claim to have why has this Happened? Is this what you want at AA?

Mr. Molenburg talks about furloughed UAL mechanics rights even as the IBT UAL negotiating team works to
eliminate United mechanic lifetime recall rights!

Who elected the Teamsters Representatives who are steering our negotiations to mirror the
Continental contract that removes mechanic lifetime recall rights?

Hmm, you would think they would want lifetime recall rights because it inflates th elist for a representation election.

Corruption at Local 2727 of the Teamsters
This is the Local for the UPS Mechanics

Harassment of Union Officers
Without notification President Combine cancelled Trustee Gronkiewicz’s credit card
while Brother Gronkiewicz was out of town on union business requiring him to pay for
Union related travel expenses out of pocket. President Combine has also refused to pay
travel expenses (mileage) for Brother Gronkiewicz and Brother Boyle in their
performance of representational activities. President Combine was directed to pay all
owed travel expenses to Brother Gronkiewicz at the IBT.

Executive Board Approval of Vendors/Attorneys

During the February 2012 EB meeting President Combine refused to allow a motion to
go forward authorizing the use of attorneys. When his decision was appealed President
Combine stated the Rules of Order in the Local 2727 Bylaws do not apply to Executive
Board meetings and again refused to hear the motion. When asked for the list of
attorneys approved by the EB President Combine stated that Bob Baptiste, Roland Wilder
and Bill Wilder were approved in 1996 and no further approval was required.
After determining approval of attorneys by the Executive Board was required President
Combine “sandbagged” the Executive Board by making a motion to approve the use of
attorney Bob Baptiste after arriving in SDF at 11:00 p.m. with only six EB members
present.

Refusal to Comply With EB Motions
• In February 2011 the Executive Board motioned to discontinue the use of attorney
Bob Baptiste as the same services were provided by the IBT. President Combine
ignored the motion and continued using attorney Bob Baptiste after being
disapproved by the EB.
• In March 2011 President Combine attempted to extort money from the Executive
Board by releasing confidential information regarding the elimination of the
Office Manager’s car allowance. After agreeing to increase the Office Manager’s
Salary President Combine refused to pay the Office Manager in accordance with
the motion approved by the Executive Board and made two additional motions in
an attempt to extort additional funds from the Union.

Is this what you are LQQKING forward too by signing a Teamsters card?
Are you sure you want to bring the Teamsters to American Airlines

June 18, 2010 UAL IBT negotiators announced that they will now use Continental’s contract as a guide to negotiate your UAL contract. The UAL membership will now rely on a contract from Continental mechanic negotiations which does not contain our seniority protections, outsourcing limits, work protections or other critical scope that mechanics at United have fought and sacrificed for over the last 25 years.
You can view the Continental contract at www.mechanicsforchange.com. Continental mechanics have stated there have been basically no improvements in this contract over the last 12 years of Teamster representation at Continental.
The Teamsters have failed to enforce our existing contract; they have failed to negotiate any contractual improvements with United over the past year and a half of negotiations. This announcement from the Teamsters negotiators clearly demonstrates their lack of experience. The IBT appointed negotiators are willing to scrap UAL contract language built by our mechanics over the past 25 years for a contract being negotiated by the IBT at Continental.
Teamsters and their appointed UAL negotiators are again showing their inexperience representing the mechanics at United.

In May the UAL SFO-OV Chief Steward stepped down under threat of recall for dereliction of duty. Appointed Business agents allowed him to remain on the UAL IBT negotiating committee, until SFOOV shop stewards found out and demanded his removal from the UAL Negotiating Committee. Teamsters Business agents pleaded for understanding to settle this issue “in house”.
These actions are a clear reflection of the appointed representatives in the Teamsters union who are currently negotiating your contract with United Airlines. They have not enforced many areas of the contract over the last 2 years. Will they now surrender these rights and protections we have fought for over the last 25 years? Seniority rights, furlough protections, lifetime recall rights, C-check, Component and Engine Shop work area furlough protections, OSV annual audit language and grievance procedure rights and legal council.

The leadership of the IBT sent a clear message during the on property meetings at SFO and other UAL stations. IBT leaders stated negotiations were going nowhere and that any changes in language would have a cost…where does this leave us? The IBT has surrendered your right to negotiate a contract here at UAL.

The UAL Mechanics and Related now stand to lose seniority rights, job security provisions and critical scope language that protects our work and our membership during these IBT closed door negotiations.

Over the last two years the IBT has failed to enforce outsourcing language, contract mediation rights, grievance language and other CBA rights. The number of grievances on file by the SFO membership has doubled over the past 2 years. The only solution the IBT had was to remove the third step grievance rights and to shove grievances into their desks and pretend they don’t’ exist. Grievances have doubled and the “IBT Board of Adjustment” is a surrender of your contractual rights! The United Airlines mechanics need to change representation before the IBT destroys what is left of our contract and our membership loses all of the rights we have fought for over the last 25 years.

Before you consider the IBT, take a close look at the facts and ask if the IBT is being honest with you. We challenge the IBT to explain how AA would be legally required to open negotiations with the IBT prior to the amendable date of the present contract. The IBT can’t answer this question because its claim is nonsense.

Just as a reality check, consider IBT’s record when they raided AMFA at UAL. The IBT’s contract with UAL was reached over three years after it took over representation from AMFA and long after the amendable date of the AMFA contract. So much for Teamster Power

Just doing a little research on your own you can find many more reasons that You should NOT sign a card to bring the Teamsters to AA.

So when the Big and Powerful Teamster Organizer knocks on your Homes Door
Tell him/her that you are not interested.

Tell Him/her that WE the Mechanics of AA want a Union that will respect our class and craft.

Any union that has to come knocking on your door at all hours of the day can only be in a desperate losing situation.
Certainly haven't seen and hopefully won't see that from AMFA.

I have used this argument in Tulsa but guys don't want to believe it. I tell them that if they want to pi$$ away whatever is left of their pension that is their business but I don't want mine pi$$ed away. Again we could be outvoted by ignorant people who don't want to know the truth.

Flying low, Do you really believe what you just wrote? Reality check is needed.

Flying low, Do you really believe what you just wrote? Reality check is needed.

CIO

The Realty Check is that we, the TWU M&R "Represented", now offer a workplace to the newbies that has:
a) one week of paid vacation for the first five years of employment;
B) half pay for the first day of being sick;
c) no relevant shift differential for those working the second or third shifts;
d) diminshment of the labor standards for the AMT by increasing the number of non-certificated personnel performing AMT work;
e) introducing non-certificated personnel to the docks and shops in overhaul;
f) freezing the Defined Benefit Pension for those already on board at AMR while supporting a merger with an airline that terminated their DBP, then expecting that the former employees of US Airways will fight the best fight so that the corporate profits of the new AAG will be invested into the previously underfunded pension trusts of the employees of AMR;
g) one line local that allows more members of the contractual groups outside of the NMB recognized class of M&R to vote on which contract we are allowed to vote against;
h) one line local that prevents regional concerns from high cost areas from even being voiced at the negotiations level;
i) one line local that prevents regional concerns about the safety and adequacy of training from even being voiced at the negotiations level;
j) one line local that prevents the voice of the geographically disparate locals from individually making argument to the International regarding issues that are specifically local;
k) I think even you can see that the TWU is not the Union that anyone wishing to be an AMT at a 121 Certificated Air Carrier would wish to be forced to surrender their monthly wages to because the TWU has historically failed the advance the wages, hours of work and working conditions for the NMB recognized class and craft of Maintenance & Related.

PENSIONS will be handed over to the Teamsters is the only reason why we should not fill out a teamsters card.
