AA has announced that it will fly a 757-200ER across from BOS to MAN.

Given the cash position, I still say that this would be advantageous - especially if a proper (engine comparable) 767 cannot be found or afforded.

There are plenty of folks who'd like to go on over to DUB in early April.

Here ya go, your homework's done:

DEP TIME ARR TIME
PHL 19:00 SNN 6:30
SNN 8:00 DUB 8:45
DUB 9:45 SNN 10:30
SNN 12:30 PHL 14:00

And, here's your seat map:

AA and CO have been running 757 ETOPS over to Europe for several years all ready.

I'm not sure if that's correct for AA.

All their European service has been 767s and 777s.

Is the earth not flat?

I might be wrong, but I thought AA had done seasonal service from BOS to MAN before.

You also have to remember thta LAX-KOA is about 2400 miles - the same distance from PHL to LAX.

SNN is an additional 750 miles. A good 1:15 - over water.

wasn't airways looking into the possibility of using 57's to europe? i know that our 57's are not etops equipped but maybe we will get some from ual. who knows

Boy, I'd like to have thought that BOS MAN would be a U route. I like the idea of 57 markets to Europe, but I'd want a business class product. Domestic first seats wouldn't work for upgrading. You need some recline and foot rests.

For AA and the 757's to europe: It was JFK-Man, 1992, or there abouts. No other city pair across the atlantic. CO flew 757's from EWR as well, and built up to a DC-10 on the route. Don't know what they're doing now though.

Bos-Man might work. When AA did the north atlantic, one of the bigger problems was what to do with all of the trash. 6-7 hours with two full services needs a lot of stuff and generates a lot of trash. Just a narrow body problem.
Now the fact that we no longer serve anything, it might work better now.

AAviator: I beleiev that CO is using 777s and possibly 767-400ERs to europe but not 100% sure may be someone can help out but i think that this is what they use

CO also flies 757s over the pond.
