What new route would you choose for US Airways

DOT just opened the application period for the 4 U.S.-Haneda frequencies that are supposed to be available this fall (the other Tokyo airport that'll have slots available when the new runway opens). Wonder if US will apply?

Jim

Interesting to see HND being reopened to international flights. Much closer to to Tokyo, but fewer connecting markets.

PHL-HNL domestic. And with the third largest russian population in the states(behind NY and LA) PHL-Moscow.

Being serious and hoping for success, my vote would be for a flight they can complete without a fuel stop every other day and with the proper equipment. Stop the blame game of high winds, Chinese New Year, it's the customers/employees fault.

Please don't announce something until every detail in place! Wishing much success to any flight that will eventually be flown.

Put this at the top of my wish list too.

Rather than one route I would do a hub swap: PIT rather than PHL. IMHO if an airline is going to move their OCC then at least it should be to a major hub, especially since I have several friends in dispatch who now face greater difficulties doing their FAA mandated jumpseating. Plus PIT has less of the ATC headaches than PHL does.

PIT is dead, there is a reason for the PHL build up, I knew it would be a matter of time till the dead horse of PIT would get beaten again.

No airline has stepped in and built up PIT, get over it.

CLT & PHL-SLC
CLT & PHL-OMA
CLT & PHL-DSM
CLT-OKC
CLT-TUL
CLT-PAC
CLT & PHL-YVR (in time for the Olympics would have been nice)
CLT-ARN (If Electrolux would guarantee weekly seats)
CLT & PHL-BBI (new Berlin Airport opening next year)
PHL-WAW
PHL-LIS (year round)
PHL-HAM
PHX-JAX

southwest is really pulling back on PIT-PHL...we should start adding capacity back in this market. Especially with all the loyal USAir Frequent Traveler Program members in PIT who really want this route. Instead of letting a 767 or 330 sit on the ground in PHL for hours for an international turnaround..they should let it jet down to PIT on a quick turn and this would alleviate the commuter demand esp. for those of us who fly international. The Real Housewifes of Moon Township would be all over this!!
