What a Shame

See, that is just it you people don't get it. Why should it matter to YOU how much a passenger spends on an airline ticket. Perhaps your company should provide you with a manifest before each flight on how much each pax paid. Would that help. Then you can know who you should treat like s**t. Oh wait, according to you that is all of your passengers.
In the end I get it. You are in an abusive relationship, with no shelter to run to. You are too scared or too lazy to find something else, so you take out your frustrations on the people who deserve it the least. Which leads me back to my original thought. What a shame that your airline wasn't liquidated.

If you walked onto my airplane with an attitube and no respect, I might treat you how you deserve to be treated. However, if you look at me as you walk on the airplane I would give you a smile and a cheerful "good morning." Please, tell me what made you this hateful towards my colleagues and myself and tell me why you wish my airline was liquidated. It's people like you that make me hate going to work somedays.

Want to hear a joke....

UsAirways got their #### together

PHX gate agent told me that one ... made me smile the rest of the day.

I, by no means, have ill will towards the employees of USAirways. I just wonder how anyone with self respect can work for an airline that has treated you (the employee) like a disposable item. Sadly, most of the Flight Attendants are forced to stay, because lets face it, in the "real world", your skills translate to waiting tables, and picking up trash.
Your job, the Flight Attendant job, was never meant to be a career. It was a marketing ploy, plain and simple. However, those of you who have stayed beyond 15 years or 20 years or 30 years, and have expectations that a twice bankrupt carrier should/would provide anything for you in your golden years? Come on!! Wake up!!
By his own admission, your CEO Doug Park(er) more aircrafts, suggested that he did not want long term employees!!
Again, most passengers don't give a damn about you, your contract or your airline, we just want to get where we are going! Got It?

Love the joke...thanks for that!

I am not here to win. I have nothing invested. But just for the sake of a debate, please tell me this.

You have the choice of buying a televsion, one costs 200.00 dollars and the other costs 100.00. Both allow you to view all the channels, both allow you to adjust the volume, both plug into the wall. So, you are telling me that you would buy the one the costs 200.00 dollars, because you feel sorry for the employees who work at the company who (by the way) treat you like dirt. Well, good for you!!

Another prime example of how The New USAirways has created a group of employees who exhibit the Stockholm Syndrome.

The moronically written "example" you offer does not in any way relate to the Stockholm Syndrome. Go back to reading Nascar magazine.

Which brings me back to my original premise. USAirways should have been liquidated.

Hey Goober, go **** yourself!

Welcome August 1989...

Just don't drink whatever Doug's offering.....the koolaid doesn't taste right.

Thank you very much, but my degree from UC Berkeley, that's in California, is in math science. My skills go beyond waiting tables and picking up trash. I personally enjoy meeting people around the world and having a stress free job. Yes, I could be making a lot of money at a job I hate and having no time for a family, but I choose the flexibilty of being a flight attendant. I don't need the money, I am not in debt. I enjoy being able to get on an airplane any time I want and fly somewhere. Do me a favor, don't walk on my airplane a put me in a bad mood with your disrespect for the person who is going to save your life when you have a heart attack on my flight.

Wow, your parents must be so proud!

I will make a deal with you, I won't come on one of "your" flights, and please if I am having a heart attack, please stay as far away from me as possible. Clearly, you have made some very poor choices in your life, and I would hate to have someone like you trying to save mine.

-All the Best,

Lets be real people, August has some valid points. Just by the nature of the US message board and all the in fighting and the fighting with management, how is US going to pull out of this mess? So if the writing is on the wall why do people choose to stay with a company that doesn't have its employees best interest in mind?

WOW for a customer service expert you are cold blooded. Exactly the kind of people that bring down US...

I have not made poor choices in my life, actually quite opposite. I have seen many people in my former field have heart attacks and strokes from the daily pressures. Me, I don't have that. I have instead enjoyed travelling and learning five languages along the way. I enjoy working as a translator for a major cable company during the Olympics. Poor choice? I don't think so. My Dad was proud of me up until the day he passed away. Very few people get to do what I do. Many of my colleagues are very successful in many fields. One just recently passed the bar examine and will be practicing law with a well known law firm in DC. Others are successful real estate agents, business owners, etc. The point is, unless you know us personally, don't put us down. Who knows, we may just be smarter than you!

Poor Little Dutch Girl,

I also know how to ask people if the would "like ice with that" or "beef or chicken" in five different languages, too.

I am sure that many, many flight attendants are smarter than me. No question, no doubt!

However, if "one passenger can ruin your entire day," you are probably not as good a flight attendant as you think. Which leaves me to believe that you are probably not as smart either. So in effect, you have wasted your self-proclaimed math/science talents, and are probably wasting space on a jump seat.

-Happy Landings!!

To All:
A brand new poster to this forum, "August1989", has done little but post messages intended to inflame and pick fights. He/she has been added to my ignore list (only the fifth on it!); may I suggest that the rest of you do so as well.

Cheers,
DCMS
