To All US Airways/ America West Fleet Service Employees:
Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Your US Airways negotiating committee met with the company this week in Phoenix,
AZ. Our goal was to address the fair recall of furloughed/displaced workers.
Unfortunately, the company rejected your committee’s attempts to immediately resolve
this urgent issue, demonstrating their contempt for employees.

Latest 141 update. I'll settle for a positive outcome even if its not inmediately.
 
well I will say this: It is purely the company's fault that they are severly short staffed in the hubs. No one will stay for a while at 9 freakin bucks an hr in places like BOS LGA and PHL to name a few. I squarely put the blame on mgmt. But hey, at my city we arelucky to have just 4 people to work 3 turns and 4 RONs on a daily basis. ANd yet three of us, myself being one have bad backs. I guess that is how the company and PI think of their own employees who actually make the airline fly

People need to realize that its the same circus just different clowns.

I was under the impression the boys out west held employees and employee relations dear to their little hearts...am I mistaken?

I once trusted Doug. He seemed to have the best interests of both the investors and the employees in mind. However, soon after the merger was announced he seemed to change, in my view for the worse. He started playing the game like the larger airlines CEO's and suddenly seemed to think that he could throw labor under the track. I believe that, in deference to PitBull, that JG's gameplans seemed compelling to him. All of a sudden AFA 66 saw a nasty change in how he dealt with them, how he basically refused to enter into further meaningful negotiations with them and even threatend to just place them under the East's FA contract.

So, once upon a time I trusted Doug. I posted here to that effect. Once my trust in him was gone I decided I didn't want to work at a place where I didn't trust the boss or his minions, so I left. The sad part is I left friends behind and I miss them.

Does that provide any answer to you, at least to how I stand?
 
Doug brought JG and AC over for a reason, and it wasn't the freakin' operating certificate!

The floggings will continue until morale improves!

Anybody that can't see that (and IMO, couldn't see that a year ago) shouldn't be turned loose in the adult world without a babysitter.

I remember when 'just call me Dave' showed up, and implied he was the anti-Wolf. Then he implemented Wolf's plan.

Then 'just call me Doug' shows up.

How hard was it to figure out the next step?

Lets put my theory to the test.

This time next year, will compensation and terms of employment be better, or worse, for mainline employees?

The lure of big bonuses and stock options offered for whatever reason be it a sale, merger, or performance goals can make a person forget about employees and focus only on their own bottom line. :unsure:

Last week, I worked a 757 gate and there were two rampers and a team lead for the entire shift. The ramp supervisor kept pulling one of us to work flights at other gates, leaving one person to load the 757. Each of these 757s were destined for Hawaii with no empty seats. Where were all these new people they hired? They quit already!

where do you work? PHX or LAS?
 
You also forget the VP of Labor Relations Everett Al "Head in the way" Hemenway was brought over from East and he studied under Glass and had a major hand in the destrution of the East Employees.
 
Like I've said many times before...you can paint Doug to be the bad guy here, but if he left at this point..who is to say anybody else would be so much better?? Eventually some of you negative, dark cloud, glass half empty people are going to have to see some light somewhere in this company and if you choose not to..please get out. Why is it that people that see good things are "stupid", "blind" or drink kool aid...You are in control of your own life and destiny and have the power to make your own decisions about where to work, which position to hold and how much money you want to make...Nobody is held hostage by any company unless you make that choice.
