It's more like "bad habits die out"...

Your generation is by far more racist and bigoted than mine is. My son's, even less so.

Ironic that progressives like you always intently focused on the rear view mirror, eh?

And conservatives want to believe that history never existed. Only a conservative could look at the Souther Cross and feel pride.

The flag is still flown to remember the ~400,000 who died on just the Confederacy side.

That certainly doesn't mean that the ideals of 1860 still live on, as much as you want to try and make it out as such.

Eric,...I'd counter that  Mr. ROOF was closer to your sons age as opposed to yours or mine.

Further, here in 2015........................South Carolina is on par with Mississippi as for containing far more racists than North Carolina or Virginia  etc.

Mr Roof was younger than my son, actually. So was Jared Loughner when he shot Gabby Giffords.

That doesn't contradict the fact that there are fewer outright racist scum in 2015 than there were in 2010, 2000, or 1990.

Hey Tree, what say you about this?

Or this?

How 'bout this? The star above the state name was specifically designated during Clinton's tenure to represent those who fought for the Confederacy...

If you want to look at the symbol as support of slavery or racism, go for it. I think most people moved beyond that, save for a few faux-outragers.

In the eyes of those who had relatives who suffered at the hands of the south and given the stated intent of the president of the confederate. ...... Yea I think it does. Of course a conservative would never see it the way. Perhaps that is why Germany does not fly the swastika to commemorate their fallen.

I've not found anything to support the idea that the top two were sanctioned by the campaign.

Dylan Roof followed the Council of Conservative Citizens and there are pictures of him with thenSouthern Cross in them. There is quite a bit more than fake out rage. Of course very little of that is coming from the conservative side of the aisle who look at the flag with pride. It is very clear what the flag stands for.
