"American held talks with US Airways again after the United/Continental merger to lure its smaller rival into the Oneworld global alliance, people familiar with the matter said. Currently US Airways partners with United and Continental in the Star Alliance."

on the bright side, I guess MAD will become year round from CLT

I think US would be better off in an alliance with * but... I have a feeling this is just a start to a merger...

Becareful what you wish for... I remember not long ago that we couldn't wait to get rid of those in the Crystal Palace... Now, we have something far worse..... Now, if we were to merge with American, that too could be worse... you never know....

Your right, AA mgt is no prize. I think we are better off stearing clear of AA and One World. If we have to merge with with AA, let them go into bankrupsy first, then I believe that merger would be a much better deal.

Star Alliance has served us well, and I see no need to abandon our current setup.

Are these numbers correct
After a merger I guess we would be taking a paycut. What are your medical costs?

"rewards based on the performance of the employee and/or company or other established measures."
Merit pay scale ?

Your thread title is misleading. These talks occurred in the past but aren't currently going on.

Not only is the title misleading, the thread has denigrated into another labor vs. management thread...CLOSED.
