Perhaps the key word here is "beta" in the url. Usually refers to a test program.

I have looked through all of the union documents re stock to be issued and
i do not see any mention of class a or b shares mentioned.
Secondly.....if the shares being issued to the employees are the current
class being traded....how can this be. It is my understanding that the
company is just now in the process of mailing the shares over the next 2
weeks.
Because shares are being traded and the employees can not take advatage of
the curent price...say 14.00 per share...because the company is late in
delivering them i sense some very upset union leaders and possibly some
company liability.
Lastly...the pits...so far i understand that no non union employees were
granted shares for their sacrifices.

Still flying in spite of ourselves...so to speak

US Airways has been trying to list the stock, but has had difficulty, which represents the poor market conditions for the Transportation Sector. The company does not meet NYSE listing requirements because it has not been profitable for five consecutive years (only two quarters with one-time gains since the March 31 emergence).

The company is working with the NASDAQ and OTC BB (Broker to Broker) as a means to provide employees with liquidity options to trade the security, which the employees received on July 31.

Expect a public announcement shortly -- for a liquidity option to trade the restricted stock.

Best regards,

Chip

Hi chip

Per one of the bulletin board specialists the ticker symble...usala...
was started yesterday 8/5/03 for class a shares.
showed 5200 shares traded that day
another 1000 shares traded today

only problem is no shares have actually been delivered and the stock
is not...repeat is not...trading on a when issued basis.

ripley s beleive it or not has nothing on us......

closing price on usala 8/6/03 $26.00 per share on volumn of 3200 shares
which do not yet exist.

I suspect that since the shares aren't actually trading that those prices are "bid/ask prices. I have seen this many times with anticipation of a new IPO ready to come on the market. I will call my broker today and see what his take is on all of this. No matter, I don't anticipate that we employees will get our shares at the same time the IPO hits the market. And even though you see that high a bid, doesn't mean it will sustain itself. If their is a lot of trading and you set a price at "market", you don't know what you'll get it at. The price will be all over the map that day. And if you "set the price", you may miss it that price completely if there is a lot of volume trading.

I don't think that any shares have been distributed yet, so my guess is that those numbers are just a test. I don't think I'd believe that anybody would pay that kind of money (unless it's in pesos, maybe) for U (oops, I mean USALA) stock.
