Will New England Patriots fans from BOS and New York Giants fans from JFK or EWR get an US Airways special charter flights on 752, 762 or 333 nonstop to Phoenix, Arizona for Super Bowl XLII trip?

US Airways charter flights went to PHX on Boeing 752 and 762 from PIT in 1996 for Super Bowl XXX.

Delta does the Patriots flights, so I don't think US will be a part of their travelling plans.

But I think the question is related to fans. Wouldn't USAirways get some good loads by running a few extra legs on the BOS and NYC routes to PHX?

DL already has an extra section posted on 2/1 from BOS-PHX (DL9737) using a 767-400. US has the standard sked with three sold out A-319/320s.

Out of JFK, DL added two flights, a 764 and 738 in addition to their two sked flights using a 738 and 757. US has three sold out A-320s from JFK and three sold out A-319/320s from EWR. CO has upgauged two 737-700s to 738s and one 738 to a 753.

Surprisingly, no extra sections out of PVD or even MHT other than the daily WN flights.

Well in the past US has been proactive in this manner, I would think they should be adding some flights as they have done for the Masters, the Kentucky Derby and other major events.

But we are talking about the super bowl everyone. Chances are no more than 50-60% of the stadium will be full with Patriots and Giants fans. People come from all over and thus to have extra sections outside of the team charters is likely unnecessary. The airlines that typically charter the Patriots and Giants will run extra sections for team/family/friends but that is it.

When the Eagles went to the super bowl, the week before i believe a NW DC10, A332, 752, and 753 were used to shuttle people down but it was scattered throughout the week. Where as the Monday after all these flts arrived back in PHL around the same time. But that was it, no extra US flts or upgrades.

So i would expect little to no response from US.

They aren't going to take a 762 or A333 off of a European route for a charter like this

They did so when the Panthers were in the super bowl.

They team flew a 767 from CLT-IAH-CLT and the familes flew on a 757 and an A321.

Remember there is one 767 and one A330 that RONS in the states.

Even if we're talking 50% of fans being Pats & Gints, that's still over 30,000 that will attend the game. I don't think it's realistic to expect a 767 or A-330, especially if US in PHX isn't able to properly handle them with the required ground equipment. However, it's not unrealistic to expect 319s & 320s to be upgraded to 321s or 757s. An extra section or two could be added from BOS or PVD. Even in NYC, an extra section out of JFK & EWR would work. Heck, they could even run an extra section the Sat. morning before the Super Bowl since the perimeter rule isn't in effect.

remember the DC-9s are long gone. that's what the used to use. haven't seen any major a/c increase around derby or masters time

in the last few years.

US flew the 767 twice for the Panthers when they went to the Super Bowl in IAH, a city never served by a widebody from US, they contracted some of the ground handling, that is not a problem.

700,
absolutely correct. fill with empty pods and put a cookie sheet right by the door stack the bags on such and tie down.

you can use a beltloader to offload. Very doable has been done in years past to FL citys that had no k-loaders

For a charter, they dont need any LD3, LD8s or Pallets, they are on the plane all ready for the charter flight.

Prior to the Giants even making it to the Super Bowl, USAirways had already set up an extra section EWR-PHX several weeks back.
