First of All, IAM-FSA met with the company twice, NO proposals were exchanged. You are posting false information once again. FSA negotiating committee walked out.

Second Ms Levine did not lose anything, it is for only 4 months, not permanent, try again. And Ms Levine did win the outsourcing battle on sickouts, and attrition.

And the judge does not implement a contract, you work under company policy, the judge cannot force someone who does not have a legal binding contract to work, that is slavery, something that is against the law.

By the way, $15 Million is going to be paid to the IAM for the A320 outsourcing.

Regardless, a strike would likely cause a liquidation and a part of me would like to see that happen. Then the naysayers would get their wish to have full pay until the last day.

Wrong again not full pay until the last day. For all some it would be full pay until the last day minus 21%. Do you ever get it right? I feel the same way though I would love to see it happen just to see you get what you have been dreading for so long.

A couple of points of clarification:

1. If the 1113c relief is granted, the judge does not impose a new contract on the employees. Rather, the old contract is abrogated, and the Debtor is free to impose any employment terms it deems necessary for the successful reorganization of the company.

2. The employees would have a legal right to self-help should the judge grant 1113c relief, as the RLA permits immediate self-help actions in the event an employer conducts a major breach of contract terms.

P.S. By the way, I believe the CWA and AFA will reach deals, the IAM-FSA has been exchanging proposals this week, and today's IAM-M update seems somewhat sanguine. In the end, I believe there will be new labor accords one way or another.

Hey 320, you been busted:

US Airways Motion to Support 1113c

From US Airways Section 1113 Court Filings:

During this period, IAM has attempted to inundate US Airways with data
requests, but US Airways has responded as expeditiously as possible, and, to date, has provided IAM with volumes of financial and operational data. Despite spending several days at the bargaining table, and receiving the reams of financial and operational data they requested from the Debtors, the IAM groups have yet to make any counter to the Debtors’ Section 1113 or Section 1114 Proposals, nor, as of the date of filing this Application, has IAM made any commitment to ever provide the Debtors with any counterproposal. In reality, with its initial delays, unwarranted numbers of data requests and failure to provide a single counterproposal, IAM has done nothing more than position itself for a Section 1113 hearing and has failed to engage in meaningful discussions at this critical time.

Hmm, guess you are proven to be wrong once again!

Once again, CAPITULATE OR LIQUIDATE!!

USA320Pilot, did it EVER occur to you that the company is much more interested in liquidating then saving the company? I know all the we are in the worst postion of all the airlines, but you don't hear the 24 hour a day, drum it in your head, cram it down your throat, stick it up your a## rhetoric on ANY other board. UAL and others aren't happy with more cuts...nobody is...but there is a touch of hope in their threads that comes across from both employees and management. Our's is hopeless with the word liquidate.. liquidate..liquidate...liquidate!!! That's ALL we see. So just DO IT for God's sake. At least the hardworking employees of US Airways will have some finality, instead of all this should I stay? Go? Will it survive? Will it fail?

Your tone sometimes suggest a slight grin in thinking that you pilots have the upper edge and are in good faith with the company because you signed a contract that you seem to be proud of. Just remember that with the remaining unions groups, these idiots running this company think they can pressure everyone to just take what they offer or...once again liquidate. Kind of like they did with alpo. Well, Chippy, your guys HAD all the attention and to expect all remaining unions to just pull the perfect management accepted version of a contract out of their a$$ is indeed asking for the impossible.

Now what does the company do? Go to court to get rid of our contracts or .............................what's the magic word?????

LIQUIDATE!!

Meanwhile, you don't seem so up in arms over the ridiculously expensive management salaries.Let me tell you, if the company cared, they would hire from within. I will be more than happy to make a third of what Jerry Glass makes and I WILL PROMISE YOU COULD DO A BETTER JOB!!

Somewhere along the way, this company finally has realized that they have NO clue in how to run this airline, so their hints of liquidation tells me that if you can scare everyone enough, maybe it can be saved, but this group has p###ed off our employees and taken so much trust from us that they know they can't save the company...SOOO, if you do as the company is doing NOW, you can Chapter 7 it on the premise of employee uncooperation, take their money, blame labor, pay off the creditors and probably somehow walk away with millions.

So when you read ALL the articles from ALL the sources US Airways is involved in, count the number of times liquidate is written.

I have lost all trust in anything this group says. If they were to take 21% like the rest of us, maybe I would be, but refusing based on competitve market value when your team's performance is collectively dissmal and and somehow deserving of equal status is highly insulting. If you or anyone here finds that behavior acceptable, please remind me to not make any investments with you...not that my 21% less gives ME much leverage. <_<

Joe Tiberi, spokesman for the machinists' union, said it was no surprise that the airline filed the motion, and said the union is preparing to defend its position in court while it continues to negotiate a possible consensual agreement.

See Story

Why would Tiberi make that statement if there were no discussions? 700UW, as a self proclaimed IAM "insider", how can your own union spokesman contradict you? Inquiring minds want to know... In regard to company’s filing, I believe it’s clear the IAM-M has been conducting bad faith negotiations with their “concession stand is closedâ€￾ position, and it could come back to haunt the union membership big time, just like with ALPA and the RC4.

Regards,

USA320Pilot

Lets see were you on the second floor in the conference room?

Don't think you were there.

And there are two sides to every story, so don't count your chickens before your eggs hatch.

There is a lot going on and you have no idea or no clue. But I would expect that of someone who is terrified of losing his job due to another group telling the company enough.

Any one know the differance between a brown nose and crap on your face?

The company is going to terminate the frozen pension, the CWA was not on the property in 1992 and that pensions covers all the non-union employees.

'Joe Tiberi, spokesman for the machinists' union, said it was no surprise that the airline filed the motion, and said the union is preparing to defend its position in court while it continues to negotiate a possible consensual agreement.

Tiberi will pretend to negotiate as long as the company does. Neither side has a case if they don't pretend to work on an agreement.

First,

You absolutely do get it. I agree with you on every point. If this managment stepped up to the plate, terminated their defned contribution pensions, and reduced their salaries substantially, they just may get more than a "glance" from labor.

Get what,,,?

If the comapny just wanted to liqudate, why waste the money and time going through the motions, negotiating, and trying to secure relief...?

Why not just liquidate NOW...?

Oh, yeah, I forgot, they are out to get you. Millions of dollars matter not, as long as they can mess with fine upstanding folk like yourself, sure

Tell ya what, if your paranoia helps you sleep better at night, or makes you feel empowered during the day, fine, but at least come up with a more plausible accusation.

Rico, are you Bruce Lakefield's long lost love child? You've got no way with words, which is similar to the genetic mutation traits that are prevalent at US Airways management.
