TWU International Hits The AA Ramp

Were they out on the ramp explaining where our prefunding went?
Details about the balance of equity?
Merging of seniority list?
What happened to revote promised in 2003 that led to "without further ratification?
Where the new overtime rules are?
Where the shared gain agreement is for overhaul?

Anything of importance? Or just showing their ability to parade around?

In our situation, the teamsters international came on property to "promote" themselves.  They had truckers coming in and making complete asses of themselves.  The teamsters even held an emergency meeting for stewards to train them what to say and spread thru-out the membership where Hoffa himself called in over speaker phone.  Knowing the AMFA drive was going on at SWA, Hoffa was told if he was to increase the dues without the membership voting on it, it would be the last nail in the coffin for the teamsters at SWA.  He took this with a grain of salt and raised the dues anyway,  then BOOM!!  Record card drive  took place and in 2 weeks we had something like 80% cards for AMFA.   Then Hoffa started back peddling and promised to cut the dues back to where they were, and we told them to go pack sand, too little too late, AMFA overwhelmingly beat out the teamsters at SWA.   You guys need to do the same thing at AA.  Hopefully you guys will have your chance during this Alliance vote coming up, BUT, if I were you guys I would be still collecting current cards for AMFA and run as the "other" union to be added to the ballot.   I also feel this will be your last chance to rid yourselves of the TWU before the merger goes thru and it's too late, there will be way too many mechanics once the merger is done, and much, much harder to rid of the industrial unions...
