Negotiations Early Opener – August 13, 2024

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Your TWU-IAM Association Negotiation Committee, representing M&R, MLS, MTS, and MCT, is pleased to announce the first dates for negotiating with American Airlines for your collective bargaining agreements.

The ‘early opener’ Section 6 negotiations will commence on August 13th and 14th at TWU Local 591 Headquarters in Grapevine, Texas, seven months before the current amendable date for all four collective bargaining agreements.

Your Negotiation Committee is fully prepared to engage with American Airlines at the bargaining table, and with your continued support, we are confident that we will bring back industry-leading M&R, MLS, MTS, and MCT agreements.

Wow, can hardly wait to see the Association mess this up.

What would you consider to be messing it up? It’s an economic extension offer. Sounds to me as if any structural issues with our contracts that we might want to have addressed will be put on hold.

Probably a good idea on all our parts to consider a deal?

Company needs some stability to work on their problems with the Travel Agencies and revenue weaknesses against Delta and United and we could use some catching up to the rest of the Industry to make up for that huge inflation rise.

I’m open to the idea with the right number.
