Freedom--  Okay, so  at what point do you think it would've been okay for the US employees to let her know her behavior was NOT okay? You're cool with agents, F/A's, and other customer-facing employees having to put up with this sort of abuse because people are "stressed out" over the holidays? WTF? Whatever happened to personal accountability?
It's fine for employees to let people like this know their being rude and unreasonable and I support the FA's right to kick people like this off of a plane if they need to ,same goes for our gate agents to deny boarding to people who are going to cause problems ...

What I do not support is some guy on the plane passing a note via our employee I'm assuming, saying "eat my @#$!"

Who does that ? Why would you interject yourself into a situation like that and why would one of our employees continue to help Someone bully a pax like that ?

I doubt this guy would have passed a note like that if the middle aged woman with the surgical mask on her face was a 25 year old healthy male .

...And at 35,000 feet? Then what?

Not a fan of the "eat my d*ck" comments, but to call it bullying? Really? Please.

Who's to say?

And what if she is sick ? You mention "most" mentally ill don't behave like that ,but let's be honest here most people who are ranting and raving like that USUALLY are sick ..

We shouldn't be unduly cruel to people who.may have mental problems even if they annoy us .

As for my postion on military boarding I stand by personal opinion that the military should not come before the CIVILIAN population ,the military is here to serve us not vice versa .
Again i ask you this  so in your opin it is ok for her to treat the crew and other pax like crap but its not ok for anyone to do back to her..... having lived with someone who has mental health issues  i can tell you first hand it was not easy but luckily i got out of that situation...        as for the military  bec they sacrafice so much for us to have our freedoms

One of our passengers has a breakdown right there on the flight and one of our employee's then contributes to the harassment of an individual who is either having an emotional break down or who could possibly be mentally ill ?
I think most crewmembers are pretty good at telling the difference between a rude, irate customer and an emotionally troubled individual with possible mental issues. For starters, a person with mental issues, made clear before departure occurs, will get removed from the flight at the gate.

A bad day is one thing, but I'm not going to put myself and the pax at risk by closing the door if there is an unbalanced person on board. This lady, however, was not unbalanced. She was just a common grouch, and deserved what was coming to her. Karma, man.

The flight attendant is probably going to get into trouble for this because of all the publicity. That's a shame.

The "military first" is just a bunch of elites proposing "a good idea" that is paid for by the commoners. As a military vet I don't like elites coming up with good ideas.

It was all just a hoax from a Hollywood liar.

Figures that a producer of garbage reality TV would be so desperate for attention and additional twitter followers that he would fabricate the entire episode. Attention-seeking media whore gets the attention he so desperately craves.

Reminds me of the woman on a DFW-LAX flight that was delayed due to an ATC ground stop--just a violent storm right over DFW.  She bitched at me about her connection to HNL at LAX.  I tried to explain to her that an ATC ground stop is beyond the airline's control.  Finally, the 3rd time she rang her call button to ask when we were going to leave and she once again got the response that we would leave when ATC said so, she announced loudly, "This happens every time I fly this crappy airline."  I couldn't help myself.  Out of my mouth came "And, yet you keep booking on us."  The other passengers fell out of their seats laughing.  She didn't get my comment or understand what everyone was laughing at, but at least she finally shut up.
