The TSA has relaxed screening standards for passengers born before 1937. Now they will be allowed to keep on their shoes, light jackets and some belts. Just about all of us have witnessed a senior citizen in distress at the security checkpoint. Last month in EWR I watched an old man collapse and lose his dignity because he was stressed, holding up his trousers w/ his hand and didn't realize there was a plexiglass barrier between him and the bench he was intending to sit on. Not necessary folks.
The TSA should stick to airports. Layered security is best instead of a 'one-size-fits-all' because that approach is impossible.
I would imagine that the DOT, motor carriers, Teamsters, county engineers and local sheriffs will push back on this latest land grab by the TSA.
