The Truth about ibt dues at Continental Airlines

True there is going to be a VOTE

Keep the cards coming be part of the group that wants a vote......what the Doc says is true. So keep the cards coming let the IAM know by the numbers just how unsatisfied you are with them :)

As I sit here reading todays mail, I get quite a chuckle.....I have two mailings from the IAM out of MO telling me how bad the IBT is, and two mailings from the IBT. One slamming the IAM and the other advertising an info meeting.

I'm getting sick of both organizations, reminds me of the "mudslinging" of a political election. Both slamming the other and not one "stating" how they will go about improving things!!

Who do you believe?

Once AMFA was thought to be a viable option but after the NWA fiasco.....a real cluster with the workers taking it in the shorts!!!

As for the IAM, the fact that they had a clause in their contract at NWA not forcing them to cross a picket line and the fact that former IAM leaders at NWA were one of the first to cross the line to scab.....so much for soliderity among unions.

Now with the teamsters and their less than stellar history.....to many ??? marks.

Just my personal opinion but unfortunately my choice will be the IAM, lesser of all the evils and you have an "idea" of what you are getting.....we have a contract and although it su*** it is a contract for a few more years. Come 2009 who knows?

You have apparently done some research....good job....we all need to choose what is best for ourselves. I have found the present IAM contract to be more than just to get out of BK, it has been written to allow more cuts out of BK. The possibility of that doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy. A lot can happen before 2009 with that contract. Just my two cents. :)

Gonzo,

Spreading mistruths again?

There is no language for the company to make more cuts in the CBA.

Funny thing is your work that is farmed out to Timco and Aeroman will becoming in-house, now under you ibt CBA it would remain outsourced.

Funny how you keep making things up when backed into a corner.

Wrong again.

I have read it, I was there when it was handed to the IAM from the company.

All A320 family overhaul done in-house, 50% of the 737s done in-house.

Can you say the same about the ibt cba with HP?

Keep making up lies you are making yourself look foolish.

Not true 7 read it again. Ask dell he agrees and knows future outsourcing is a very good possibility and is at the companies discretion.
yes future outsourcing is a very real possibilty but we know through our freind Fred that a vote isn't in the tea leaves....because under the IBT purchased contract there are provisions to outsource all heavy maintenance that U does now under the IAM contract.so at best U would have until 2009 under an IBT maintained contract before heavy goes away.
but they'll tell you they are going to negotiate to bring this in house, but they haven't been able to for over ten years!VOTE IBT!! ;)
