That blue handbook that EN has at all of its cities says one thing--MANAGER's Discretion. Well I got to admit, at my city, our ramp mgr certainly has no problem using that to his advantage-- examples,
making a full time line for one individual when allegedly he said he couldnt and that was about 2 to 3 months ago; then one of our long time co worker did the SMART thing and went to PHL as the contract at mainline went into affect thus leaving what should have been a full time line for me. What does the mgr do? he gave it to a worker who is already full time and takes that worker's line completely away.
I do know for a fact that the mgr certainly plays big time and I mean big time FAVORTISM. And unfortunately it is useless talking to anyone above. I sure hope we hear something about the union very quickly we definetly do need it. So in conclusion, in my own assessment, there is absolutely one place for that little blue book, the mgrs discretion book, right in the bon fire. Just wondering does EN do this type of favortism and the likes in the other cities it has?

And favoritism is the single biggest factor that promotes bad morale making, in the eyes of the employees, selective reward/punishment a day to day part of their existence.

If a manager cannot justify their decisions in a clear manner, then they should make no such decisions until they can or, perhaps, look for another job.
