Just got word from a reputible sourse, that Teddy won re-election for the PIT LEC President. Can't find any source to verifiably back up this source I have, via AFA E-Line or such. But this is supposedly a FACT. Maybe tomorrow there will be factuall data. In any case.......Thank God we have Teddy.

There was an e-mail sent out to local 40 F/As from Teddy. Teddy indeed did get re-elected as did Mark Gentile, Rosemary Nea is the Sec/Tres, and Jeff forbes and Donna Sunderman are Council Reps.

Flight attendants in Pittsburgh re-elect Xidas

US Airways flight attendant Teddy Xidas was re-elected to a second term as president of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Association of Flight Attendants.

In votes counted Monday, Xidas, known for her outspokenness, defeated Gineen Ferrara 289-102. About a third of eligible voters participated. Airline executives "are not breaking out the champagne (because) I'm elected," Xidas said Monday. "The flight attendants in Pittsburgh know that I truly represent their interests."

Xidas and Steve Hearn, defeated Friday in his bid for re-election as the Charlotte local president, were the subjects of an Observer story last month profiling their conflicting views of how to deal with the airline as it seeks a third round of labor concessions.

"In all fairness to Steve, (voters) were shooting the messenger," Xidas said. "But there is a lot of discontent in Charlotte."

A 3 to 1 Victory on Teddy's behalf speaks clearly that people are not going to accept what's being directed our way over the last 2 + years.

You Go Teddy....and bless your heart for all the effort you apply to your tasks. Those whom you represent in PIT are the better for it.

I'll bet money that Mr. Hearn wishes he had half of what you corner the market on....and Moxy is going to be the non-invasive term for what I'm alluding too.

Apathy would be understandable. With the backdrop of the current state of the company and the continued downsizing of the PIT hub, there is little leverage to protect the interests of PIT attendants. This position is slowly becoming irrelevant.

Maybe they got exposed to AA flight attendants before the vote was held. In our recently completed election, the incumbent President won by 5 votes! Over 11,000 flight attendants did not even bother to vote. That is not quite half the total flight attendant corps at AA.
