Solving the Line vs: Overhaul Issue

Damn, that's gonna suck....
As I understand this issue, a butt-nugget (who doesn't have to live his creations, needless to say) arbitrarily assigned a "cost-saving" value to this wonderous idea and sold it to someone as an improvement. It may well be a good idea - assuming one's people don't express their displeasure in myriad non-productive ways. Rather brilliant of the chap to not consider the Human Factor™ (CBT) in his planning - ie, how people (you know - those human things that do the work) tend to push back when pissed off.

This isn't a "call to arms" or an attempt to encite - just pointing out the lack of qualifications (ability to lead) of those at American who are placed in leadership positions. Obviously, possessing the ability to weigh the ramnifications of one's actions is not foremost in the management selection process. A good supervisor or manager does occasionally slip through the cracks in the system but they are swiftly dealt with or walked out during a "layoff", as we saw recently.

Bankruptcy is supposed to be about trimming costs, not exploring methods to piss off employees.
