You are 100% correct. As long as the road show goes at it has already been explained to me, then I will vote yes. Good to hear someone actually say, waiting to get all the facts. Instead of jumping to a vote and sticking to it and not reading the ballots when they come. I know for a fact a large number of mechs didn't even read what they were voting on last time. They were just going by what they were hearing on the floor from the majority and voted that way. That is so sad. Hope everyone reads it this time, and votes the way it effects them personally.

I will add this. Since the Final Offer from AMFA was passed across the table, and the AT nego cmte voted to take the offer to thier members, I have as of yet heard of a no vote. Not saying that they are not out there, just saying I have not had anyone say they are voting no at work amongst the folks I talk to. So far (if most of you remember) It's kind of like the exact opposite of what happend with the last vote. At this time we were hearing all "NO" votes and about 2-3 "YES" with the company's offer. Now (as far as I see so far) I am only hearing "YES" votes and so far "0" no votes. Matter fact the only no vote I have heard so far is the raticle guy out here in cyberland screaming to take it to Arb. and wanting to keep seperate contracts, lay-offs and so on.

On fence about TA. Need to find out about our 4 years staying in place if we buy or merge with another carrier. A big no on LOA #8. Every mechanic from the Dallas hanger that comes to the line that I have talked to, doesnt even know about this LOA!! What is that about? Creating premium positions for the AT techs? Don't think so.

well as long as they loose their seniority if they bid back to mechanic classifacation im not that concerned with the relatively small group of tech support or trainers that will be offered those jobs , they will be out of there boxes right?

theres absolutely no reason we cant come to an amicable agreement. the hardliners who wont be satisfied with anything other than a staple, or seperate contracts are not living in reality or at least being realistic. This is 2012 not 1967.... Anyway hopefully it will be beneficial for everyone to get this out of the way in an agreeable fasion, on our own, so we can move forward and focus on the competition, not each other...

I've heard of No votes from west and east coast SWA mechanics, so it's not in the bag yet.

Im east coast here, and the guys I talk to are mixed. Theres some resistance about the trainers. I dont exactly like it, however it is a relatively small group, and they dont get anything our beyond what our trainers already get. I would hate to see this get hung for a small detail. I hear its a bundled vote , 1 vote. Road show is today in BWI. Here we go....... Incidentally , AMFA currently represents our trainers, I believe if they went back to there boxes, if they even were allowed to they would keep there seniority. So the same would be true for the AT trainers. Not that any trainer would ever want to go back to there box, probably never happen.

Trainers and maint. supervisors have gone back to their boxes in the past. Every day they are in management, they lose seniority. If their time in manageement exceeds their time in the union, they come back at the bottom of the seniority list.

What about now that they are represented by AMFA???

You have been talking about trainers.
I am assuming you mean the Maintenance Instructors.
The first paragraph in the SLI TA answers that.
They will be subject to article 9 para 11 of our contract.
That para in our contract explains how supervisors retain mechanic seniority but stop accruing it while a supervisor.
Read the TA and the listed contract para for more detail.
