Separation of Church and State?

No it was not. It is very clearly crafted as a secular nation (no mention of religion in the COTUS) made my men who had faith and practiced their faith. There is a huge difference between the two ideas.

Not sure why it would coincidental. WWII ended and segregation was on it's way out. Women got the right to vote and own property in the 1920's. People who's rights were abridged started to realize that they were no longer going to remain silent. People such as my self decided to stand up and be heard.

The term is firmly rooted in the COTUS.

Prove it then.

i think the 1st says it very clearly along with the fact that as religious as some of the framers were, religion is not mentioned anywhere in the COTUS. Prove that the intent of the COTUS otherwise.

Show me where and quit dodging the question. You can't.

If you are asking to show the exact phrase in the cotus then no. How ever that is the interpretation of the 1st amendment.

What do you think the 1st says?

It is inconsequential what I think.....

In 1995, in Capitol Square Review Board, the Court considered whether a free-standing cross, placed by the KKK in a public square across from the Ohio State Capitol building, would violate the Establishment Clause. Concluding that the space in question was a public forum (a space traditionally used for, or set aside for, expressive activity), the Court ruled that private placement of the cross would not constitute an endorsement of religion. Writing for four members of the Court, Justice Scalia insisted that the test was not whether a reasonable person might perceive the cross to be an endorsement of Christianity by Ohio. Scalia said the real issue is whether Ohio promoted religion, and promotion is not--he concluded-- to be found when a private organization is allowed to use a public forum for religious expression on the equal terms with other organizations.

With that said, you are an abject liar.

If you were always right you are correct. But of course, you are rarely right. In this case you are, as usual, wrong.

This whole thread denies an all powerful, all knowing God.

If you believed in one, why would he care about politicians and lawyers getting the best of him?

Are you denying God is omnipotent?

Dell,

I am sure you are aware that the KKK is not part of the government.

A private group may petition the government to do something on private grounds. In this case the KKK was allowed to display their cross on public grounds. When the government decides to do that we will have a problem because "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". That would violate the separation be tween church and state.

A discussion on religion and the Constitution with an atheist and you turn it into some off the wall treatise for denying God?

Sorry Doggie...you got the wrong Christian this time, maybe watch the video in thread one again.....

In case you missed the bus, this thread's first post shows how religion held and holds a significant importance in our founding and existence today. Progressives left all that out of the text books....Funny isn't it?
