Seniority Challenge Greets Us/hp Merger

We already know that PHX is short FAs and they have to come from somewhere.  Eventually people senior will transfer in it's just gonna happen.

PHX is not short FA's, so don't continue to yammer what "we already know".

Im just happy that the senior FAs at HP seem to know what is right!

Who, Hulagirl? She is likely junior, but someone who was furloughed at U and is looking to make a dramatic leap in seniority over her "friends" over here. So far, she hasn't denied that. Let's see i she does it now.

First of all, why does it matter where I used to work? Where did YOU used to work? This is a forum, and exchange of ideas. Just because you disagree with me doesn't mean that I am your enemy, just that we have differing ideas.
I did NOT used to work for USAirways, but did work for another carrier. Not that it is any of YOUR business.
I am not senior or junior.
From my postings on this forum and AFA 66's it is pretty easy to figure out how old I am, what my background is, where I live (or dont), my religion, my work ethic, my moral values, and most importantly, my maturity level.
And to backtrack it for you, I am not happy that my seniority is going DOWN system-wide, but FAIR IS FAIR. Maybe you should TALK with other flight attendants that have been through mergers to find out what will actually happen rather than panic for no reason. You guys don't even understand the language of a merger, and are making a huge stink for NOTHING.
The US Airways flight attendants are our co-workers now. In six days, America West Airlines will be a memory. These are the FACTS. We are ONE. Why not CHOOSE to see this as an opportunity rather than a death sentence? Why not CHOOSE to see this as an opportunity to make new friends, fly to new places, experience new things? It is YOUR CHOICE to make this a wonderful success, or to make it a horrible job. Which will YOU choose?

hp f/a,
I dont know if you are junior or senior..but I am furloughed and I am so excited for this merger. I do have afriend over there and from what I understand hulagirl is the majority as far as agreeing with DOH. Seriously....noone cares about PHX. I can not wait to come back and do all the international flying. The most junior person at U has been on a trip to Europe...so what makes you all think you wont get it? Who cares if some of you are senior to me and bump me down some if I return to PHL....We at U do not care...not even the junior f/a's. So chill out and go with the flow and stop trying to swim the wave backwards...ride it my friend...you may enjoy it!!! DOH

Do you believe everything you read in the newspaper? To say you are very naive is being generous. Your avatar fits you perfectly.

HP is not the aquiring airline, it is a merger funded by outside investors.

That's not what the previous filings with both the bankruptcy court (that have been posted here and in the US forum) and with the SEC indicate.

See http://www.usaviation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20775 and/or docket #2399 in the bankruptcy case, but I'll quote from it again:

America West will be treated as the acquiring company for accounting purposes under SFAS No. 141,“Business combinations,â€￾ due to the following factors: (1) America West’s stockholders are expected to own approximately 37% of New US Airways Group common stock outstanding immediately following the merger as compared to certain former US Airways Group creditors who will hold approximately 12% (these percentages reflect certain assumptions concerning the likely exchange of certain convertible debt and the impact of certain securities that are dilutive at the per share purchase price paid by the equity investors); (2) America West will receive a larger number of designees to the Reorganized Debtors’ board of directors; and (3) America West’s current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer will serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Reorganized Debtors following the merger.

Now, that means that the bankruptcy court and ultimately the SEC are treating America West as the acquiring company.

Don't let the facts get in your way.

Just, remember, it's fair to me if I get what I want. If I don't--then it's unfair. The rules are the rules, you know--like same seats, I saw her first, I had it first, and oh, yeah, if you don't like what's happening, just shut up because I do. The lot of U make me laugh thinking that the HP folks should just take it up the @$$ because it's a good deal for U. U employees got their good deal during the late 90's with parity plus one and cushy work rules. U helped earn their furloughs by choking the goose to hard (shitty management didn't help). Step back and think about the situation if the merger was called off--don't forget that picture--and have a least a little understanding of the HP employees.

Then you have no objection to a 5-7 year fence around PHX, correct?
[post="303561"][/post]
Actually...you can have a fence 5 to 7 ..7 to 10...most of the senior people live on the east coast and are happy in CLT..PHL...and alot of them would love to stay in PIT forever..so no..have a fence forever...who cares!!( except AWA f/a's) You all are the only ones who care. Go ahead and come in PHL and bump me down to the the bottom reserve..atleast I will be in PHL where the trips are better and I have a better life.

AGAIN, WHO CARES ABOUT PHX!!!!!! We are happy where we are.....we just want job security! GET IT!!!!! Geez, people take a chill pill already! You can fence PHX for 50 years.....WHO CARES!!!!! You are only hurting yourselves by limiting the type of flying you're doing. US NEVER had parity plus one.....and we've been taking it up the a@@ for years now....don't talk about being fair when you have no idea what we've been through! And as far as having understanding for the AWA people.....let's talk about what the US people have been sacrificing now for years....it's a cut throat industry and most of the US people have been living it for quite some time now. Get used to it, it doesn't get much better from here on out folks!

I'm new on this forum and have been a HP flt att for 19yrs...bottom of top third...and this is my fouth airline....and YES I think DOH is the way for seniority for the merged company. Most of the complaining and shouting is coming from the junior fa's....first job, first airline.....Well you know what, they need to wake up and see the big picture. WE are now US AIRWAYS, triple the size we we're before, new routes, int'l flying, many bases. They actually think that the US fa's are going to come to PHX and make them all on reserve. I had a HP fa with 15yrs say he'll probably be on reserve in PHX after the merger. This shows what they are thinkings and believing....we need to tell them not to fear, they can stay in PHX....I for one want out of PHX as soon as I can...I commute from the East Coast. What I'm worried about, with all the crying coming from the HP side, that they will make it hard to transfer. We need to prevent this. Believe it or not, about 20-25% of us HP fa's commute, most from the West, but many also from the East that may want to changes bases.....Sorry for a long reply but it makes me angry that my coworkers(HP) are creating this animosity(spelling?) among our new work force. I thought it would be the other way around......stand by me Hulagirl.......
