Just a note... SEA ticket counters and gates are moving next to UA tomorrow. Counter is furthest north in ticketing level . And gates will be in the Norh satelite.

Perfect timing! I was just about to ask. I flew in to SEA last evening and was surprised to see US still using the S gates.

Is the food situation any better in the north satellite? The pickens in the south are pretty marginal, the lines very long and the service o-h s-o s-l-o-w.

Good luck guys. I'll wave on my way by to Alaska. Switched my transcon flying to them after they started Newark and Florida. There's just no commitment on these long hauls from the company, witness the dropping of CLT and the redeyes off season . Give my best to Stan and Shelley, and so many of the other nice folks at SeaTac. They really had to work at getting a US1 like me off the system

A little off topic, but is US moving over to the UAL terminals in LAX? I thought I heard, and I do hear voices, that US was going to move to Terminal 7 or 8 sometime in OCT. Thanks for the info.

I know the flights come back (supposedly) next Summer, but some of us actually go out there for business, and that seems to be conducted 12 months a year. They will ultimately shift as much of this west coast spoke traffic as they can to UA, and for me, that's not a choice I would normally make.

Why in the world would we care if you take your revenue elsewhere? Dave doesn't care about revenue. He can always recoup the loss by stealing more from the employees.

At least for a while.

(Seriously, though, we are very sorry to see you take your business elsewhere. Everytime one of our US1 customers walks out the door, our jobs become more tenuous. It's just SO frustrating to see the airline dismantled by these morons in Crystal City and be SO powerless to stop it.)

Is this good or bad??? US's position at T-1 at LAX was always an advantage for those Runway 24 departures. Right next to the runway.

I personally do not want to see a move to T6 at LAX. Although T1 did have and may still have some long lines at security, it is the most efficient terminal in terms of departures. (Whenever there is a line that snakes outside during the day I just go to the front. If I am ever questioned, I tell them that I am not flying SW, and that is who the line is for. Whenever I have done this, I get a look like they don't know what hit them!) They barely have time to finish the safety video before being cleared for take-off most times. The club, although not close to the gates, is comfortable and a nice refuge from the masses flying SW. Food offered in the terminal isn't that bad either. To top it off, if you come in at gate 12 and are towards the back of the plane, you luggage can make it down to baggage claim before you can!

If I had anything to do with it I would opt to stay in T1 just to keep SW from getting 3 more gates.

Whether US moves should really depend on where US-UA want to take the codeshare at LAX. Right now, there are not too many codeshare flights out of LAX (unlike, for example, ORD). If US decides to add its codeshare to the full array of SkyWest flights and UAL mainline at LAX, then the move really should be considered. Having to bus folks from terminal to terminal takes a lot of time and is an added expense. Plus, if a US flight is late or vice versa, the probability of a misconnect increases considerably with the current gate assignments.
