wanna see where the first reference to DL came in this thread...

wasn't me.

And there were a half dozen other posts from others about issues related to DL as well.

So apparently there are people who want to talk about DL - or at least throw in comments where they see fit - on threads other than on the DL forum.

SO how about you take up the issue with those who actually committed the "crime."

otay?

funny how 700 wants to keep wanting to compare DL to WN but he doesn't want US ramp salaries - which his union negotiated - with ANYONE because if he did it would show how incompetent he and his union have been.

Funny, isn't it?
Guess you dont have the intellectual capacity to understand that US and the IAM havent negotiated a Section 6 CBA since 1999.

Two round of concession in BK #1, 2002 and 2003 and then more concession in BK#2 in 2005.  The M&R CBA was abrogated in chapter 11.

In 2008 both Fleet and M&R got transition agreements with slight improvements to combine the east and west groups.

Guess you dont realize the IAM is the only group at US that has a pension.

How many pensions does DL workers have?  Meaning a defined benefit plan.

And a 401k is not a pension, since it uses your own pre-tax money.

Dont let the facts get in your way.

And by the way, I didn't see US' agents checking bags curbside at CLT, that's skycaps.
This is CWA WORK
If this is done than a shop steward needs to file a grievance

If bags fees are being collected by skycaps this is CWA work

It is CWA work. US Agents work cuebside in CLT to collect fees. The skycaps put the bags on the belt. Skycaps do not collect fees or issue boarding passes in CLT.

Thank you,

so... what is the purpose of having a union if they are incapable of overcoming the BKs which US trotted the company thru in order to trash the CBAs?

You reinforce what I have been saying for years that labor unions are powerless at the hands of corporate lawyers esp. in BK... and yet you continue to tout unions as something that employees need when you have been completely paralyzed by the company for a decade.

Of course it doesn't fit your definition but a pension most definitely does include defined contribution plans which some companies including DL provide for their employees with a company contribution.

Pensions are not just defined contribution plans.

Are you really that ignorant of finances that you believe that pensions only include DB plans?

And, BTW, DL employees other than the PMDL pilots do indeed have frozen DB plans which are under company control and which follow DL's plan rules which are more generous that the PBGCs. Of course we all know that US does not have any DB plans because they were turned over to the PBGC and the unions were unable to do anything about them.
DL's employees, without a union, have better control over their pension benefits than US employees and they got it without unions.

It's no wonder they don't want what you are selling.

Really?

Wow, maybe you need to improve your comprehension skills.

I clearly stated Skycaps in CLT were checking bags, thats all I said, I did not say they are collecting fees or issuing boarding passes.

Dont put words into my posts.

you looked up what constitutes a pension and learned that the definition most certainly includes defined contribution plans and not just your limited definition of DB plans?

of course you would rather talk about bags than now admit that you are wrong about the definition of pensions.

does any of the last couple pages have anything to do with with changing to American branding??

Not really...

Though if asked to pick, I will say that check in/ checking bags/sky cap issues are more relevant than pensions, since the former is an issue that will invariably come up as soon as co-location really starts to ramp up...
