Runway 23 in CLT closed?

Past two days, south ops, and 23 not being used.....no clue

They are probably trying out a new operational plan that does not include Rwy 23 for regular, daily operations. That does not mean the runway is closed. Airports everywhere use a preferential runway system based on conditions. Runway 23 is probably just no longer is preferential at any time. (I think it will slow things down and cause delays, but they didn't ask me.)

I understand the preferential runway system based on conditions etc. But I thought that in S. Ops. using 23 gave them the highest traffic flow, hence curios why they aren't using it. Trust me, I don't mind landing on the 3 longer runways and leaving the shorter one to sit there..

As I stated earlier, it's due to aircraft doing a go around due to wildlife on the runway while aircraft are departing 18C..It was a requested by the FAA...

the approach into 23 provided a very nice view of uptown CLT. Even had the luck of departing off of runway 5 one time when a plane got disabled on 18L/36R. Interesting departure pattern by uptown at night.
