and I am sorry, Kevin, but unions don't negotiate which plans a company will buy. They simply don't.
They may negotiate the terms for the cost of coverage but they simply don't dictate the suppliers a company uses.
good for your better half. there are plenty of industries that offer benefits of one sort or another that are better than what is in the airline industry.
Despite all of the hoopla about the TA, no one bothered to post the increased costs that AA employees - including FAs are likely going to be subject to even while people make statements that the cost of increased health care coverage for DL employees is larger than the cost of the pay raise.
Unless you are talking about a part-time employee, that is simply not accurate.
further, it has been noted by multiple AA employees - not me - that AA's benefit costs are taking a larger percentage of their pay increase than what has been posted for DL employees.
and LD3 is absolutely right... no one Republican or Democrat has figured out how to reduce the spiraling increases in health care costs.
until they do, Americans spend more on health care than does any other country and we do not have the levels of health that should come with those expenditures.
