Just a question.
If the plan is to eliminate Utility and drastically reduce the number of mechanics, why do they continue to post these positions for employees to bid on ?

Thanks

Because contractually the work is still covered by the IAM/US Airways Mechanic and Related Agreement.

But there has been an awful lot of mechanic jobs come up for bid in the last few weeks. Is this because people are leaving ??

Also does the contract stipulate that there has to be 'X' number of mechanics and utility ?

Why wouldn't the company just not fill those positions ?

Just trying to figure out how this works...

Thanks

Many mechanics are leaving to other companies and many are retiring. The company is not replacing all of them but the manpower is being replaced as absolutely needed.

It would be great if you could ask a legit question on these boards and not get some smack A$$ with a smart A$$ reply.
