Hey folks,

Just a quick question... Lots of us have seen that great photo that was taken at LGA of all 3 heritage livery A/C together at the end of the Shuttle terminal. My question is this:

I've noticed as an almost daily traveler, even before the planes were painted in "heritage livery," that reg #'s 740-760 (or whatever the last A319 taken REG # is) are usually the planes flying the shuttle routes. Is there a reason for this? Do the original A319's (i.e., 700-730 series REG #'s) have better performance on other routes?

Input appreciated.

Best,

A/C's 700-741 are all overwater equipped airplanes and are needed to fly certain Caribeean markets and prefered on other Caribbean routes. Basically is takes 12-13 airplanes to run the Shuttle lines of flying. Since you don't need an overwater airplane to fly the shuttle routes, that is why you will genereally see more of the non-overwater airplanes (742-770) flying shuttle.
