QIK /SHARES migration

I have to RECHECK him in like, twice, to get a freakin seat to come out. And WHY WHY WHY does it seat assign blocked seats to nonrevs no matter what? My brain hurts. I really miss GA5/14C or G{X}5/F...GRR!!
Just today I resorted to writing in the seat numbers by hand
Standby list is terrible I just print a hard copy and work it by hand sometimes. Like the old days
BLINK BLINK BUSY BUSY………….. BLANK
 
Why does the standby list skip people? Let's say I unseat SA3P Smith because I need to get past him to get to the next person in like - - he hasnt responded to the page - - but then he shows up and I have plenty of seats so I re clear him -- his name is still on the list and it still won't give him a seat. The reason it does not clear someone after they have had a seat removed is because Shares does not consider a psgr checked-in unless they have a seat (even if they're still on the S/B list). You have to re-check them in and then it will clear them. Goofy, but that's the way it works.
 
Four segment bag tags arent that unusual,

We have this a couple times a week easily, especially when the cruise ship is in town and the guys are finishing their assignments. TPA-CLT-SFO-HKG-MNL or TPA-PHX-SFO-HKG-CGK- some little town no ones ever heard of. Happens enough to be a nuisance. Is it life threatening? No. But, like Shirley states, we were TOLD we kept this system because it was able to be changed so quickly and efficiently. I'm still waiting for both to happen.

What many users would like to know is why is taking long to fix these things. Is it cost? If so, why were people told that a main reason in switching from Sabre to QIK/SHARES is that while Sabre charged a lot for enhancements/changes, our own IT people could make changes to QIK for much lower cost.

My favorite response is "this is not QIK, but Shares by design". IOW, its not happening so dont bother us again with this, thanks.
 
And then there are the kiosk and skycaps and agents checking in passengers and their bags on flights that are running so late that there connections will not be made only to find out hours later that the passenger could have been rerouted at time of check in. with SABRE this was not possible
 
Never, ever gonna' disagree with you that Sabre was a better product by far. But, QIK is what we got and you have to play the hand that was dealt you. Maybe before too long we'll be using Apollo or Amadaeus(sp)....either one's got to be better.
 
INTLSNN...try reordering the standby list to get the person a seat, then when the person at the top of the list shows up, all you have to do is clear him/her. THis is what I do and we all know I am the QIK Master. Heart U!!!
 
I just talked with our development rep and she says the 4 segment bag tags are currently being worked on and the fix will be out soon. I didn't press for a date. So what does "soon" mean. I'd say a month but it is being worked on and they haven't swept it under the rug. Please take this in a positive way.

Ihave tried this too and it will also skip people....I was working a downsize(my favorite)and 10 pax were bumped from first.....all those pax were hkn shouldn't they have got seats reacommed first?? Anyway I ended up with a first class seat ....I dont know how cause I quit trying to figure out this system and tried to re-order the list.... It said ok so we tried to assign the seat and poof shes back to the bottom of the list.....tried it again same thing . and then we went into a loop!!!!Tried it on a different set and same result...now I have 2 computers in a loop!!!!Then the 3rd computer went into a loop just for the heck of it.......So now I have no working computers at my gate and its time to take the paperwork to the plane and I dont know how many pax I have and its an intl flight. Thank god we still have the old pink handwrite boarding passes

I see a boarding pass coming out of the printer. I have never had a problem reordering and clearing, its the easiest way to do it. SABRE is a dead horse and its not coming back. As much as I loved it, get used to and embrace your inner QIK.

I don't have any inner QIK. I'm the ugraded version enhanced with awesome. I don't have time for that biz niz. I don't want to reorder the standby list I want it to do what i want it to do!!!
