MidAtlantic is definitely no better when it comes to pay. Our benefits are horrible and expensive and the pay is near the bottom of the industry. I hope more a/c come just to keep us employed. Good luck to everyone.

Seriously, then, why do you chose to work there?

Because it was a choice to remain at a downsizing company that has a questionable future at best, or to make a move to a up and coming company with a bright future...

Guess what , you too will get the very same choice if you now work for Airways.

Can you clarify for me here? What "up and coming company with a bright future" are we discussing here? MidAtlantic?

That poster (turtle) works for Mesa, so has a future with or without/at the expense of US Airways.

Yes, that and Airways.

Because I am optimistic, that despite the huge "pity party" going on right now. That the unions will do what unions do, and come to an agreement that salvages as much as possible for themselves (not you personally) out of a bad situation.

Unions are as much a business as any corporation. They will lose revenue if Airways folds, they certainly do not want further precendent set in having a contract actually abrogated in BK Court. (1113e has already been accomplished by UAL vs. IAM, but never a 1113c abrogation, yet.)

I know, the militants will jump up and down screaming that "no such thing will ever happen", and when it does they will change the tune to "no one will vote for it", but c'mon. It has happened this way in the past (multiple times actually), and in far less dire times.

And, like I have pointed out before, we are currently feeling "The Stick", after which we will be shown "The Carrot"-----> That is the up and coming part that I spoke of...

Because only one thing will salve the wounds of these negotiations, and that is growth.

Flame me all you want, but I have a feeling even the most rabid posters on here know that I am probably right.

Peace B)
