I hope we do that. I understand why they took the nuts away..but..they need to bring them back.

I think the idea is to weed the nuts out

Just keep the US snack basket up front. Given other changes, I think that's one staple that US preferreds would miss the most.

What is in the snack basket? Does US serve it on all flights in FC? We do not serve any food in FC on flights less than 3 hours.

Let's see, I'm sure I'll forget something, so someone give an assist if I forget anything... it's been a combination of Cape Cod chips, the infamous Snyder's Pretzels, Walker Shortbreads, granola bars, cashews, Pepperidge Farm cookies (I forget the actual ones... I just know I can't eat the ones US serves anymore), and last but certainly not least, XOXO bars when it's not summer.

XOXO are a wonderful pair of bars... on the order of a Kit-Kat, chocolate and crunch, but oh so much better. They had been used this summer as the "dessert" for FC meals when I've flown.

Weren't peanuts removed from US Airways because of fears of potential lawsuits from passengers with peanuts allergies. Peanut dust floating through a presurized cabin at 30,000 can be deadly. 😛

i think we should sell pillows and blankets for $5:00. have a prepackaged set of a pillow and blanket .( nice ones) and sell them at the boarding area. reiterate that there are no pillows and blankets onboard the a/c . the only ones available are the ones for sale. people will buy them trust me. if not, well they had a choice. also they are able to keep them for use on a future flt.

The Biscotti's 🙄

We are actually getting some new type of popcorn/caramel snack in First Class similar to Cracker Jacks. They are called something weird that no one has ever heard of. I have yet to see them. And where in the heck is the new wine program we were promised back 3 months ago? These wines in First Class are gross and taste just above Boone's Farm (ick).
As for the pretzels:
How embarrassing for the person or people that agreed to that decision in CCY. I have the feeling that inflight and SG's "soldiers" from PIT/CCY are about to be shown the door. I say BUH BYE.....SEE YA!

it's not crunch&munch is it? if so that would be awesome. crunch&munch is so good. i doubt it though, but if it's anything close to that i will definately be ok with that.

Obviously it didn't make good marks with their new boss 😳

The peanuts were dropped because of food allergy problems and trying to "sterilize" the planes when someone with the problem was scheduled to fly. You would have to take all the peanuts off the plane before the flight and it was a pain when an unscheduled swap occured or someone with a problem didnt call in and notified the station on day of departure. I think it was just easier to drop them altogether instead of having to jump thru hoops when the situation arose.
I find it hard to believe that there arent companies out there willing to give a great rate on their snacks in order to get them introduced to more people. ie cheap or almost free to get the publicity and word out about them with a captive audience.
I think a coach snack basket would appear to be a service enhancement without having to do too much more work, just pass it around and offer a choice.
Potato chips, corn chips, raisins, granola bars, trail mix, cookies, pretzels, snack mix, etc....the list goes on. Just is going to take someone to find the companies willing to give a good rate for some special promos....

Other airlines still serve peanuts. My look on the peanut allergy is if you allergic, plan ahead and eat something else. 🙂 I think the the whole peanut dust thing was blow out of hand, if it was true.. dont you think other airlines would have stopped them too?

We still serve cashews in the F/C snack basket... Its a nut

Peanuts are not nuts, they are legumes.

And Peanut allergy is real, and you cant completely clean them off an airplane if still served.

I flew on CAL earlier this year and it was pretzels.

We still serve peanuts at HP, and we DO NOT offer peanut free flights.

Main cabin snacks on AWA rotate between honey roasted peanuts, salted peanuts and pretzels. We tried peanut free flying but it didn't work for us and the company decided that we will not do peanut-free flying. In fact, I believe the policies listed in the AWA magazine says that.

The webitse also addresses peanut allergies...
