<_< -------- Bob, my feeling on their attitude is that if they could figure a way to divorce themselves from the " fix it" part of this business, verses the "flying" end of it, they'd do it in a heart beat!
 
Maybe, MCI- but the flying part of the business sure isn't sustaining us now. I think the smart play would be to get as much MRO as possible to diversify the company's sources of revenue. We already have the infrastructure and can easily add more people if necessary.

What I do not buy into is the idea that shrinking the company is a ploy for more concessions. They might in fact come after us for more concessions, but shrinking the operation is out of desperate need to mitigate cash burn. It's not like we're the only one shrinking. Plenty of other big carriers (who are not in contract negos) are doing the exact same thing. It's a response to market conditions, pure and simple.
 
How do you easily add more people when the starting pay is below what most local debt collection call center jobs pay?
 
I agree. Most mechanics on the street have shown how they feel about working for an airline with their feet. We ran as fast as possible away from of the industry.
