Just how is DL looking "Very Bad" right now?
Sh!t happens and everyone walked away!

Nothing to see here folks, other than a couple of people taking advantage of what could have been disastrous, in order to facilitate their agenda....move along!

Actually, lots "to see" here. You may not be interested in how the investigation plays out, but I sure am...

BTW, here's the latest release from the NTSB:

Anyone know who does maintenance work for DL in JAX?

No, swamt, DL is not looking bad right now.

Even when WN pilots had a cockpit catfight that destroyed a fairly new aircraft, WN suffered little damage.

The public doesn't know or care about what causes accidents unless there is something of repeated or clearly malicious nature which is what happened at Malaysia.

And every indication continues to focus on the braking systems and handling of the aircraft, not on the pilot actions which the NTSB said was done by the books according to DL training which is also similar to what other carriers do in light of the AA LIT accident.

Given black box technology, the NTSB could have easily determined if the pilots screwed up but they did not provide any indication that was the case and are looking elsewhere.

Funny  I do not see where the NTSB says the pilots followed the book..   Either your lying as usual or you cant grasp things as usual or both   It says the NTSB is still investigating the accident    The crew has been interviewed   and its still an active investigation

LD3  I did a google for DL Flt 554  and there are some pics of that MD88 at LGA  it is similar to this one but I don't think it was snowy   I believe it happened in 96

you didn't see it because you don't want to see it.

regardless, let us know if the NTSB has it was due to pilot error other than in choosing to land. once that decision was made, they configured the M88 according to DL's standards which reflect what other M80 operators dictate as well.

any landing you walk away from is a good landing

again WT  I read both updates and no where did it say the pilots followed the book   you really need to LEARN TO GRASP THINGS bec clearly you don't grasp crap

just let us know when the NTSB report says the pilots did not configure the aircraft properly.

True, didnt think of that, would this be more appropriate?

amazing the fascination that some have with other people's personal lives rather than talking about the subject at hand...and specifically that the NTSB has repeatedly said the focus of the investigation is on braking and other systems and not pilot actions outside of DL's established procedures.

then explain why they have the Human investigators buffoon    All areas including the pilots actions come under scrutiny   you are truly one helluva piece of work dude

because they bring them into every investigation.

my preliminary GUESS?

they will find ONCE AGAIN that the M80 has some quirky handling characteristics that once in a rare while create the risk of loss of control.

other planes have unique handling characteristics as well.

Is there some additional information that can be provided to prevent these types of accidents - like AA at LIT.

and I'd also like to know if the same quirks apply to the M90 or 717.

Everything says that AA and DL both learned from the LIT accident and changed and improved their training as a result. can it be refined further and can software or hardware changes be made to further minimize the risk? I don't know but given that the M80 and 90 and 717 are key parts of DL's fleet, I believe DL will want to get to those answers.
