So...flights being delayed and cancelled by the dozens...."by the booking" it ??

But the ones you are hurting are the agents up at the front lines who have to deal with the screaming masses.

Surprised there is not a thread about this yet..

Sure sounds like an illegal pilot action.

Wouldn't be the first time our flyboys broke the law, now would it??

What job action?

Haven't heard a thing.

I did have a mechanical on my last flight. Cancelled the flight. I'm not a mechanic and those with the decision did not consult me.

Thank you.

Well according to MANY MANY employees on Facebook it goes something like this "..[background=rgb(237, 239, 244)]Pilots are calling everything out of service..everything is delayed or cxld..HORRIBLE!!!![/background]

We do not call aircraft "out of service". That is a call by maintenance. What are you saying? If something is broken we should not write it up?

Are you aware current pilot sick calls are at a historic low?

Are you also aware THOUSANDS of WARN letters just got sent out to non-pilots over the past few days? Think that just might be a factor?

Get a clue.

American has one of the oldest fleets. They do get old and tired. Require more maintenance. Facture in bad weather and operational issues. So what's the problem?
Do you want a aircraft to fly that should be repaired properly prior to the next flight?
Spare parts are getting scarce. AA has been reducing the inventory on spare parts since 2003. The FAA is watching AA more than before because we are now in a DISTRESSED AIRLINE status. Wait until these aircraft get outsourced heavy checks. It is not going to get better over the long run. AA will make adjustments and then it will be business as usual. Just a bump in the road for now. Suck it up and get over it.

Well done!!!

This is a subject that should NOT be discussed on a open Forum. No matter what, it only plays into the hands of AA. We all know that AA as well as others read this to find out anything they can. I hope that this discussion stops before things get typed and posted that may be harm to any UNION member.

Remember AA management is also reading this.

Well - stated. At my station, about 18% of our mechanics and a couple of crew chiefs have put in for the early-out.
- I have taken several planes out of service, but only for lack of parts, etc. That's easy!

AA sold the parts when a (former TWA) director named FRAME screwed up the operation.

Any they still blame the employees. Idiots!

60 days to election.... Has anyone heard a single politician state he/she would do something about foreign outsourcing of American aviation maintenance jobs?

Illegal?

How so?

Sick rate at historical low

Maybe the day to day operation depends on a lot of above and beyond pilot/mech/employee "stuff"

Extra effort that has been not only uncompensated, but not even recognized, much less appreciated

Maybe the folks getting 34% cuts imposed, outsourced, etc are worn out from all the usual above and beyond, and figure they'll just do what they're paid to do
