Pilot Information Compromised

You know if you're REALLY REALLY unhappy you can always get a job flying Cargo. If you're REALLY< REALLY, REALLY unhappy you can get a job cleaning turd bowls for $11.00/Hr.

Your Dipshite Union lost a Laptop containing confidential information. Who's doing your IT? Forrest Gump?
You are aware of the circumstances precipitating it's "loss"?

NOPE! Bottom line is it's gone and proper security protocols were not followed or even dreamed of apparently. You got caught being sloppy and now you're back pedaling.

See here's the deal. As I said the information should have NEVER been on a laptop hard drive, yet it was. Bad security protocols lead to this type of thing.

Said computer is alleged to have been the source of certain e-mails of questionable origin to USAPA attorney, (potentially incriminating). Apparently, review of 30 days of security tape could not offer any clues. Maybe said computer does not want to be found, if you know what I mean. It seems that not everybody understands IP addressing. However, if stolen, USAPA may be liable for I.D. security protection for US Airways pilots a' la company liability when pilot info was supposedly "compromised" by West sympathizers. "Live by the sword, die by the sword!" Or alternately, "Hoist with their own petard!"

Welcome to the western Franke Haywire World. The CEO does jail, no prob. The management pilots give personal information out, no prob. The line pilots stealing info get paid leave. No prob. A couple of eastern div. pilots miss the computer learning date FIRED! What a strange and twisted course of ethics Franke Air weaves.
Typically delusional Easthole. You think there might be more to your vastly sugar coated little story? Look no further than the multi million dollar permanent injunction your chief hero Mike Dips$&t Cleary delivered to you.

Vote McKee and little boy Jamie Cleary!

If I was to say I took the laptop and gave the pilot info away could I get 9 months off with pay please? Throw me in that briar patch! That would work out pretty good with my Dec. 12 retirement. Then they can give me the 1 month without pay after I retire! Beauty!

Your info is safe.. Don't worry, your fruitful correspondence with Doug was not on it.

For some reason I don't put much stock in alarmists trying to suggest that a freaking laptop had a list of all the membership personal data on it.. that is what servers are for. Besides that, even if the laptop contained more than lunch menus of his favorite restaurants, there are free security applications that lock down your laptop tighter than Fort Knox, secure enough that no one besides the NSA has the capability or time to break.

Have you forgotten we're talking about USAPA?

The problem Phoenix is you and I know this, BUT do the folks who own or have access to said laptop & USAPA records know?

Sparrow, you are missing the entire point here.

It does not matter what info was on the laptop.

It is however suspect that this laptop was used to commit a fraudulent act. One that has the former legal counsel Seeham pretty pissed off about. So upset that he traced the IP address from where said fraudulent e-mails originated.

For this laptop to then go missing when it looked like it might be called upon to verify who sent the e-mails is highly suspect.

So, what it looks like is that the VP somehow convieniently "lost" his laptop so that there would be no possibility of tracing the e-mails back to him.

The fact that usapa is in possesion of info such as pilots SS numbers, is immaterial. However, since they are a bunch of lying, cheating scumbags that like to set the stakes at termination whenever they think they can be a thorn in the company's or the West pilots side, makes turnabout fair play.

I would very much like to see the usapa VP get his rear kicked by the little lawyer, but I think the BPR will roll over and pay Seeham the money they owe him and it will all just go away.

So, since usapa has failed to safeguard the West pilots info, we are well within bounds of the usapa started witch hunt to seek a 30 day suspension for whoever gave usapa the info, plus the same lifelock coverage given the east pilots, plus a thourough examination of the usapa data archive to see just what other illegal info they have obtained.
