Phl Pilots Letter

The PHL representatives want to know that this pilot group, which is second to none in terms of skill and talent, will be lead by people who are innovators and industry visionaries.
If they do say so themselves.

Innovators and visionaries, by saying "No" that is very cutting edge. What vision!!

Tough Toe Nails !! :D ....the truth hurts sometimes.

I applaud the honesty of the PHL ALPA Leadership....their views are dead on target for those whom have followed things closely and objectively.
Objectively, I would say it is a little bit more subjective on here.
I would have to conclude that your view is being obscured by your seat cushion and self-serving agenda....not the reality of running the company itself....but what the hay?...If you can get the employee's to continue to cough up their salaries and futures to off-set things?...where's the motivation for the leadership to have to do any real leading here.

The goal is obvious "real world"....it's about lowering everything to the lowest possible level...and then selling out what and those whom happen to be left.

The debate of subjective vs. objective is all but meaningless when a furlough is awaiting you , regardless of how you choose to vote on things. Votes mean very little around here....they net the same results that the contracts do , when you can pick and choose what you care to honor?

Be careful what you wish for. Dave Siegel started that "Rocky Thing."

Phantom,

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Contracts don't mean a damn thing around here and the employees are viewed as a "necessary nusance".

It all about management's self serving agenda. This whole "plan". Never enough, always needing to lower even more, until what?

What? What awaits all of us either way is furloughs and sell off to maximise shareholder value. Period.

Is if we couldn't see this as employees.

These are truly remarkable times and we all must realize that the past is the past and we have to move forward and compete with the new market realities on the cost and the revenue side. However you can not fix your revenue side without fixing the cost side as well.
This is difficult for the current labor leadership to recognize. They are more concerned with living in the past opposed to facing the harsh reality of the current economic environment. Your points are well written in that the cost side must be adjusted to meet the rigid competition of the LCCs. Dave reiterated in today’s phone message that each labor group must allow its members to vote for participation in the new business plan. It is imperative that each employee makes contact with their labor leaders that they want to express their voice in this important process.

I think I may be in love with this PHL ALPA Rep :p :p :p

Hey FLYAWAY...go flyaway!
You might want to check out the latest letters from the Alpa PIT reps....you will fall in love again. This IS a new day, and after Dave's hideous performance last week on the web, it might just be time for a "new" day in Crystal City. Best.

we all know the Duane Worth quote about the golden egg.
Brilliant. Too bad Duane Worth did not actually utter the quote you reference.

This lack of acumen is of the same variety that can regularly be found in the executive suite at CCY--all of the revenue side changes that were proposed could have happened more than a year ago without creating the frosty relationship with every labor group that currently exists.

In short, it looks like neither the PIT nor the PHL pilot groups are going to continue to fund baby Dave's apprenticeship in Airline 101. The best possible outcome for all groups would be for Bronner to call Dave to the boardroom and give him the "You are fired" and bring in someone with a bit of leadership ability.

This was sent to all PHL based pilots by their elected representatives. It perfectly sums up a clear, concise and reasoned response to the incompetence we have been putting up with for years. These men are leaders:
Lets try this again.

This is another fine example of true leadership by your labor unions. The hardliners won't allow their membership to vote on the RJ Scope Relief. ALPA's Advisors, E&FA, and 7 MEC members gave this proposal a vote of confidence.

Hawk,

Obviously 7 ALPA MEC members on a senatorial vote does not represent the majority. A "roll call" vote did, however. Same principles used in the House of representatives. Don't believe a vote from Vermont represents the same weighted vote as a vote from Texas.

Quite frankly, the membershiip of ALPA called for half the ALPA MEC Reps to change, and on March 1, it did.

New world.

PS: And you know how we as labor leaders view union advisors....close to the bottom of the "order", with little weight.

Can anyone tell us who these advisors were? Are they the same group that got a million dollar payment by the COMPANY to push the last few deals through ALPA?

Seems like somethings not right in ALPA.

CCYJoe,

The very same. That's how AFA U leaders feel about their "advisors".

Excuse me it was Rick Dubinsky of ALPA, however don't miss the point on a technicality.

Now seeing as you want to challenge statements what revenue intiatives are you refering to that could have been done, that have not been done?
