Perry Indictment... a gift, perhaps?

I'd been waiting for Bears to post about Rick Perry's indictment, but I guess he's too busy dreaming of his next grand adventure in unionism.

Except for the Travis County DA's office, I've yet to see anyone who actually thinks that indicting Perry was a good idea. If anything, it's making him look, well, Presidential...

Remember, this is the same DA's office that went after Tom Delay, and those charges and conviction got thrown out once it was reviewed outside of Travisty County.

If YouTube had been nearly as powerful back in 2005, perhaps Delay's indictment would have been overturned quicker.

From what I recall two of the three judges were republicans who threw out the indictment against Delay.

Nothing could make Perry look presidential.  He used the Veto to threaten an elected official to force them to resign.  Pretty sure that is not allowed.

Would you happen to have a citation to some statute, either Texas or federal (or any other state, for that matter) or a citation to an appellate court decision to support your claim (the one in bold)?

Looks like the indictment doesn't even have the support of the LA Times or the NY Times editors:

Maybe World Socialist will side with the grand jury, but I don't see any other media editors willing to reveal their ignorance by supporting the indictment.

In my view, she has no business heading the Public Integrity Unit - she lacks the requisite integrity.

No I dont, hence the "pretty sure".

I agree that she should not be in office and hopefully the voters will make their voice heard. As far as I am aware, the Gov does not have the authority to remove and elected official.

If Perry decades he does not like a certain elected mayor can he veto a budget item with the express purpose of forcing that mayor to resign? What is just cause?
