Patco Strike

How many times does it have to be repeated that the PATCO members were Federal employees and their strike was illegal?????

Is this the kind of fantasy world one can look forward to withAMFA representation????

YES thier strike was illegal but my point, which you obviously missed, is that if you intend to use civil disobedience against an employer, you better be willing to go all the way. PATCO was willing, Layne Kirkland was not.
Now, whether the two discussed the possibility of AFL-CIO support prior to the strike, I don't know. But Kirkland could have boosted labor's position by aiding and abetting PATCO.
We saw the same thing in 1983 when Continental Pilots struck. Other AFL-CIO Pilots just kept on flying.
Fact is the AFL-CIO is nothing more than a left wing liberal lobbying organization that puts political socializm ahead of member representation. PERIOD!

If the feds were showing a disregard for public safety than screw the law. This is America. This country was built by brave people who could tell the difference in good laws and bad ones. You know like the 55 mile an hour speed limit on highways. Striking for descent pay and better equipment should not be illegal . Firing people for striking should be . That was a travesty and the other unions in this country should have stood behind them. If we don’t learn to the future for labor in this country is lost.
