Just judging by the number of posts it tends to indicate that those with high numbers are in need of serious work rule changes in order to increase productivity which will result in a reduction of posts on the boards.

Just to spread a little bit of hope, I was one of those effected by the "Midnight Massacre" when US Airways' stormtroopers showed up in the middle of the night and shut the TPA hangar down. I had enough of US Airways and decided to take the layoff, rather than put up with the crap any more. The "we have no intention of closing the hangar" lies left me with a real sense of betrayal and disgust with the company. I also liked the TPA area (go Bolts!) and had no desire to return to the filth of PHL or the snow of the Northeast. So, I took a mediocre job to pay the bills for the meanwhile and continued to look.

It took a year and a half, but I have found a job with the airport operations department of a local airport, with pay comparable to what I made "pre-concessions" with US Airways and excellent benefits.

So, keep looking and maybe something will turn up.

Thanks for the memory refresher of what happened so these geniuses that want to give one more for the Kipper know their history and what the true spirit of this management is really all about, which isn’t labor friendly when a union hack man “GLASSâ€￾ is seated front and center.

Your comment simply does not make 'good sense'. I mean why would someone quit right now if they don't like a Jet Blue type contract proposal? I don't know man, I just don't follow you on that.
Are you saying that just because a company makes a 'piss clam' proposal that workers who don't like the proposal [as opposed to a binding contract] should quit?

Such an opinion sounds desperate or nonsensical at best.

What I truly do not understand is that if US Airways' America West type contract(s) proposal is so bad, why complain? Why not just quit and go find another job now?

Why are people so angry and spending their time on the message board if the pasture is so green at another company?

Why be so miserable? It's not healthy.

With talk now of complete outsourcing of the utility job function why should I quit.....If my job is gonna be outsourced to contractors I'll just wait for the lay-off and collect unemployment AS LONG AS POSSIBLE JUST TO BLEED ALL I POSSIBLY CAN FROM USAIRWAYS.
