We've talked about our favorite plane to work now how about the horror stories! Mine is a full DC-10 flying from AMS-BOM. We have only 5 F/A's working in coach with 250 screaming needy pax. Its a horror show. And we have no place to hide as we only have 4 crew seats blocked off and they are in the rear of B-zone. It'll put hair on your chest! :p

My least favorite is the Fokker 100 (F100), but mostly just because of passenger comfort/convenience. There is the same number of seats to a row as the S80 on an a/c that is narrower. And, the overhead bins are DEFINITELY smaller than on any other a/c I have worked. This is one plane where the passenger might honestly say, "Well, it fit in the overhead bin on my last flight!"

It's not that hard a plane to work, except at AA, the galley was never catered the same way two times in a row; so, I was always having to play hide and seek with the supplies. And, I wasn't wild about the lack of an exit in the rear.

I have to agree with jimntx. The Fokker 100 is the worst plane I have ever worked. If you're f/a #2, consider yourself toast if the plane goes down.

working number 2 on the s-80. Small galley, next to lav, pax line backs up in front of galley opening, and pax want to stand in the small area 'with you" while you have inserts on the floor and pots of coffee spread around. And then they smile and say, "could I have. . ."

I like working number 2, love the big area on the 73. . . .

the f100 wasn't awful, once you raced everything to the back before the pax boarded. It could be a mad dash with just the 2 us and a full plane on a short hop!!

I never wanted to work the first class galley in the 76. . .just to watch that person keep up with two of us made me sweat!

I just hate working on the DC-10-30... oh wait, we retired them ages ago!

I just hate working on the 727-222... oh wait, we retired those too!

I guess life is pretty good on the aircraft at United!

I've worked a number of LHR-DEL flights on the 744, I know how those flights can be BlackDog! Been there done that! If I had a quarter for everytime I was asked for "Walking Johnny" or to tell me that the tea was not hot enough!!!! AAAAAHHHH!!!!! I literally would brew the tea myself, burning my hand as it sloshed, taking the tea pot directly to the customer the instant it was done brewing, pour it in a styrofoam cup, and they would then complain that it wasn't hot enough!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!

Other then that, any domestic trip is torture for me. After being based at LHR, I'm spoiled with so many international trips that the idea of doing multiple legs in one day is frightening! I gotta have a nap during the flight! Right??? Where are the crew bunks on the 737????

I start flying from SFO in a week and a half and I'm terrified that I'm going to get four legs a day criss-crossing through DEN on a 737! Hopefully not...

we always joked that your primary exit as #2 on the f100 was the hole in the back after you crash!

DC-10-30 350 HAWAIIANS !!!! LAS-HNL meal flight! They "pride" themselves in their size. Nicest people ever but just try getting a cart through GEESH!

AND THEY ALL USED THE LAV AT LEAST 2 TIMES~
if the smell didn't kill you consider yourself invincible!

they were turns!!!!!!!

Fpr me its the 737. Its a bad set up all the way around. Tiny galley double catered for 16 each way O/H's are a pain One small closet we have to share with the cockpitbecause God forbid they should have to lay there bags on the side under the J/S in the cockpit or worse laying down double stacked. It flys rough and bounce's all the way from one city to the next. I swear on one hand I can count the number of times I have ahad a smooth landing. Its almost always a slam on the ground. I dont know if some of this is unique to the 800 model or 737's in general. But given a vote I will take our 757. 767. 777, A300, S80 or F100 any day over the 737.
