I just reconnected with a friend who is in the field of medicine and over the weekend boy did I get an education as to what is in store for us as working class citizens. We are going to get soooooo screwed. She's to sharp for me on this issue, but what I did catch is frightening.
 
Rationing? It's not coming, it's already here. She sits on the review board of a major hospital and decides just how long somebody stays and a host of other details.
 
MediCare? Changes coming for those that can least afford it. Talking about Doctors and how Medicare will reimburse. ER doc admits you? Medicare won't pay or something like that? WHY? Because he's the Fuhrer and he can get away with it because Congress is bought.

Saving more than I am spending. If I spend . $1000 in taxes but get health benefits that are.worth more than $1000. I pay $1400 a year for home owners insurance. Shod my house burn down or get hit by a tornado I have a 1% deductible and they will rebuild the house. Pretty sad that a lot of medical procedures cost more than my house.

same thing happened when insurance company lobbyists talked states into forcing their population to buy insurance to drive a vehicle... car insurance skyrocketed because now you have to buy it, so you will put up with the high rates... or you will be fined... oh sorry taxed...  its not like i can buy car insurance in a different state to get my prices to drop...  wouldnt that be nice...but thats mandated by law too...

Not the last time I checked. When I lost my job 6 years ago I bought health insurance for the Mrs and my self. The rates were crazy high and the coverage sucked.

As I have stated on here several times I am not a big fan of ACA. I think it is better than what we had which was nothing, but it has a long way to go. Part of me hopes it fails but only if that will lead to a single payer form of health coverage. Every other western country has universal health care. Why this country is so against it is just crazy.

I dont see why the same concept cannot be applied to all forms of insurance. Insurance is a scam. They charge outrageously high premiums and make obscenely high profits of off people misery and suffering. They deny health care on a daily basis even though doctors deem it necessary, they dictate how long a patient can stay in a bed and who lives and who dies. So long as there is profit in peoples suffering there is a conflict of interest. I would love to see the day when insurance companies vanish.

Government has the right to do what ever the people say it can do. If a majority of us want single payer then you will have to deal with it.

Problem with that is most countries that have single payer also have payroll tax of well over 50% to pay for it!!!

So go take your place with the rest of the Liberal Left wingers who vote to subsidize most anything. Also joining you will be the Neo-Cons who support raiding the treasury for things like Farm Bills, Oil and Gas tax breaks etc etc. Welfare is welfare no matter who collects it, be they individuals or corporations.
 
Confiscation of wages beyond what is required in order to preserve Liberty is morally, ethically unacceptable in a truly free society
