Obama Denies Flyover for Vets

This marks the first time in the 42 year history of the event that a flyover request was denied by the Pentagon.

The event is held ever year to honor the spiritual foundations of our country with a special emphasis on the men and women who serve in the armed forces.

In past years, the "God and Country Rally" has focused on honoring and paying tribute to those veterans who have served our nation in the past and those who are currently on active duty.

At the rally this year, all five branches of the armed services were featured with over 60 new recruits sworn into the military at the event.

After a phone conversation and an e-mail response from the Pentagon, Rally Director Patti Syme says they were denied the request for a flyover this year because of the "Christian" nature of the event.

"For years, flyovers have been allowed by the Pentagon at the 'God and Country Rally' in Nampa Idaho. These flyovers were not to endorse or promote any one religious faith tradition. Rather, they were held to honor and pay tribute to our heroic men and women who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces.

"For the Obama Administration to deny a flyover for the first time, is a slap in the face to all those who proudly serve our country especially when we are at war. These flyovers have been a special part of the 'God and Country Rally' for many years.

"Will the new policy of President Obama be that a person has to surrender their faith tradition to honor and pay tribute to our courageous men and women who serve in the military?

Although a flyover using Air Force One to scare the ever-living-daylights out of New Yorkers so Obama can have a nice picture of his new plane is not a problem....

With enough of these "Unamerican displays of contempt for the American fighting man" Dumbomba could realize what is being done to him and put a stop to it, but the damage is already done. The propaganda campaign is ended. The attitude change is taking place, and the target audience is unaware that they are so, the American People. The propagandists: thinkers within the right wing who have friends within the White House staff, be it anelist, janitor, secret service agent or photocopy machime operator, and some General in the Pentagon coming up for retirement and needing a gob for a couple of years in the milatary industrial complex to complete his retirement portfolio,and are willing to slide such "Necessary decisions" thru so a propaganda campaign can commence with"hard facts" on the caracter of our new president.

While Nobambi has every media source ,in his back pocket, *Tingely Legs* and all................except for FOX, it's hard to believe this is coming from anywhere but the Oval Office !

unemployment has gone to 9.5 % .... the president doesn't have time to worry about fly overs for vets , vet care , or the feelings of the public concerning vets ..

i love our vets as much as anyone else , but at this time the presidents top priority should be the economy to the exclusion of all else ...

It was the 2009 Naval Academy graduation, not a Naval Cadet graduation. The story about midshipmen not being allowed to wear swords is false. However as we have seen in the blogosphere/message boards never let facts get in the way. The fact is swords have not been a part of the Naval Academy graduation ceremonies in decades.
